Smuggler Archive
Thread: The continuity is on our shoulders, fellow Smugglers.
So in all reality it's up to us to make this game feel like Star Wars.
Wearing armor almost never (and if you must, stick to Ubese- atleast Leia wore that), gripping onto canon guns (DL-44, scout blaster) and dropping Han quotes is a sure-fire way to atleast attempt this.
Our profession is gimped- no doubt about it. However, don't let its flaws gimp you. And, finally, if you can't contribute to the continuity, atleast put "Awaiting Smuggler Revamp" in your bio.
On a lighter note, i'm almost done with Alliance pilot. 3/4/4/3...and now I regret it because I want the YT-1300. Do you guys think it might be worth it? I just don't like having to be a fake 'smuggler' to be a real Smuggler.

Actually, every seperate mastery of the Pilot profession(one for each squadron) will grant a 100% experience bonus. Thusly, if you go Rebel Ace for say, Crimson Phoenix, then wanna try Privateer for CorSec, then go back to Rebel as a Vortex Pilot, when you go through the Naboo track(Vortex), you'll be getting a 200% experience bonus(100% Bonus for Crimson Phoenix and 100% Bonus for CorSec). Meaning a single 100 experience kill would net you 300 experience points(some people I explained this to thought the second bonus would go on top of the normal experience plus the first bonus, meaning they thought they'd be getting 400 experience).

2) Now for the big one.... Why regrind pilot getting base xp? You do a couple more boxes and achieve ace for the rebel track and you will recieve double experience. Nothing like being on tier 1 getting 100 master pilot bonus and 100 normal xp (200 total). Tier 2 400 bonus and 400 normal (800 per kill). You are probably a decenty pilot if not good by now, so imagine saying screw the tier 4 duty missions and hitting Kessel for 60kish xp for a gunboat (master xp and normal combined of course) or 10-16k per standard craft. See the trend here... much faster to finish rebel and then just enjoy the story arc of one of the privateer arcs rather than feel a grind from starting over a new track without the bonus. The xp really flies the 2nd time through with it.

Yep, heard that too which is nice... has anyone you know done more than 3 tracks to see if it keeps increasing? I doubt I will switch again, but it is nice to know it keeps getting a little easier if you get too fickle
Also there is something cool about taking on T.I.E's in a yt, but then again I'm an old-timer who started on Star Wars, Episode 4, so the YT has a special place in my heart. All I need is a wookie co-pilot and I'm all set....except the whole we can't smuggle thing...
(mutters) can't smuggle...uugggh

Think about it. The three most iconic professions in this game from the movies would be Jedi, Smuggler and Bounty Hunter. The Jedi are a prequel-empowered, empty shell of what a Jedi should be, in every aspect. The Bounty Hunters are forced to melee stack to take on the Jedi scum, and they can't even hunt us, which some of them would probably prefer.
So in all reality it's up to us to make this game feel like Star Wars.

I make my own starwarsy feel, I dress in an off yellow shirt with a black waistjacket (Han Solo style), my trousers are black with a red stripe down each leg and I wear black boots. My gun of choice is a custom made DL44 (that I made myself as I am a master WS) with a visible scope and a modified barrel that can be seen.
To make me believe I am smuggling I load crates of weapons in the hold of my Sorosub transporter when I travel from Tatooine to Coronet to re stock my vendors with the hope of one day being stoped by random Imp patrol and having to hide myself in a concealed bay that I amde especially for smuggling even though i didn't think i would be smuggling myself in there.
I have Gold coloured C3P0 droid chasis on the bridge of my Ship and I abuse it at random intervals whilst crafting Weapons or when i get a critical fail. As a rule of thumb i don't get high on my own supply but I am more than prepared to "push" my drugs on to other people for a"Fair" price.
I stand around Starports interacting with random people asking them if they need passage to the Dantooine system or wherever they are going and tell them it will cost 14000 credits if they want to ride on my ship.
When I see a jedi showboating I tell them I don't beleive in the force and there is no mystical force controlling my destiny but a lot of tricks and nonsense.
If SOE can't give me smuggler content I have to make it up myself as I am going along. This type of gameplay ain't like dusting crops kids. The devs could put in a wrong line of code and that would end ourtrip real quick.
