so i'm not posting it in the chuckle thread. but i still figured that my smuggler brethren would commiserate.
me and a pleasant fellow named monsy are sitting in the mos eisley med center /shouting for someone to heal up our wounds (i use mos eisley 'cause it has so many newbies around and i like to help newbie docs).
two tumblers are standing right beside me spamming their fool messages about tumbling for tips. a guy in a jedi robe (and nothing else) comes in to the med center, walks right by me and monsy as we shout for help, and sits down to macro heal the macro tumblers.
being the somewhat confrontational person i am i /shout that real people need healing in the med center, so naked jedi boy sends me a /tell saying "i don't heal wounds and afkers are people too".
i reply in spatial (confrontational asi am) "you don't heal wounds? even novice medics CAN heal wounds. so what you're really saying is you WON'T heal wounds."
he replies, in a tell again, with "if you were smart, you'd go TKM and heal yourself"
now, i'm a smuggler, and a weaponsmith. don't really have the skillpoints to go TKM and don't really want to. no one should be forced to take another class because fools want to afk their way to master level and ignore the rest of us. why take doc and head into the med center and then not heal the people that need healing. anyway...
i reply, in spatial again (just spoiling for a fight i guess) "ummm, no... if i were smart i'd leave this place and find people that want to actually play the game as intended. welcome to /ignore."
please tell me i'm not the only one who feels this way. fellow smugglers, we get told we're fools if we play smuggler and don't slice on demand, but medics that don't heal on request are just fine? please.

I know how you feel. I used to get into arguements with tumbler-healers alot. I was the guy who was shouting "I went out and got wounds for your xp!!!! I don't even want any tips!!!!" Finally I got sick of it and picked up TKM. Yeah, I'm a sell out.

You were wrong in your descision, the jedi comes first.
Had you been a "fair" player, you would have dropped your skills and picked up novice medic so you could tumble for the jedi.
Lol im just kidding that jedi is a douche bag

Yes...we are all here just to serve our Jedi masters... /bow...
/sarcasm off...
I now know why the Jedi purge was a necessity. Anybody else wishing a Dev would just take control of Darth Vader and instantly spawn on top of every Jedi player in the game and strike them down?

ever notice how 90% of the jedi are all jerks? at least it seems that way on my server. but I would love to see the devs have Vadar conduct a Jedi Purge. I would also love to see jedi have perma-death again

Tumblers really irk me...I can't tell you how many times I've sat in a med center with massive space wounds and nothing but afk tumblers and afk medics...wish tumbling gave you a tef so I could DB them. It's become harder to find a heal than a buff these days.

I think as a present to the smugglers for being broken for so long, the devs should give us a special alt, a jedi death squad npc, invincible, with some kinda spiffy weapon, that can be used for about 5-10 minutes a day.

the funny thing is, you get more xp for healing wounds than damage.
xp is calulated as:
wound xp = 2.5 x wounds healed
damage xp = (health healed x.25) + (action healed x .25)
i dont remember the resource numbers required right off hand but they are about the same, so that means more xp from the same resouces.
seems even funnier now, doesnt it?

Once the Combat Uprebalavampis over with, afktumblersshould be effectively neutered.
The specials we have will no longer drain HAM, but a seperate, non-healable pool, which must generate naturally and cannot be buffed. If the devs keep true to thier word.
Essentially, if they do this, thier specials pool can't be healed, and they'll end up draining that pool. Meaning this will no longer help people gain experience. Plus, they'll quickly drain the specials pool, meaning aftera few tumbles, they'll just stand/sit/lie there, waiting for thier pool to regenerate.

I'm betting half a million spacebucks that bigger and worse exploits/workarounds will be found within two days after it goes live. Some people just don't want to play the game.

its not that they dont want to play the game, they just want to start as a master and skip all the low levels that teach you how the profession works.
they just dont get the fact that it 'mimics' real life, you start as an apprentice, move up to journeyman, and eventually you are a master. granted it may only take a few days or weeks here, but the system is the same.
i wonder how many people have done the grind to master doc only to find out that even though they found some 9999 enhance packs for 99999999 seconds, they can only buff at 2250, because they dont have the clothes, food and 110 droid to give the good buffs. im sure this didnt stop them from charging 15k for the buffs though.
if it is true about the specials pool, that may make it even harder to find a medic, as it is, although there are a lot of afk healers on macro, i (unfortunately, have to) send a tell to one of them to get healed. doc wont be the easy grind anymore and some will just go to a combat profession, only the dedicated ones will play doc so now it will be even harder to get a heal.
i spent 25 minutes yesterday going to med centers on 4 different planets (cnet, eisly, bestine, theed, nyms) trying to get healed. i had a disease so i had to get that done first but there was no one in any of the med centers able to cure me, had to ask a buffing doc in cnet to cure me, then i went to 3 med centers looking for someone to actually heal my 800 wounds.
sad state of affairs.
