Grouping

  • We changed the way group payouts for missions are calculated. When a mission is generated, the reward payout per member is calculated based on the current size of the group. If the group shrinks in size or group members are too far away to receive payout, those that do get paid receive the original per member reward. For example, if 3 players take a mission that pays 12k credits, each player will receive a maximum of 4k credits when the mission is completed. They receive 0 if they are out of range, and less if more people are added to the group to complete the mission.

I guess that will make having the ability to slice terminalsselling Imperial faction points a whole lot more worth it!

Your opinions, smugglers?

Note: people will need the high end faction pets in order to get the big missions again. We should as Imperial Smugglers be able to sell alot of faction points now. First to move people up in rank and second to buy their AT-STs

Same price I sell faction for. It put a smile on my face when I ended up making 2.48 million credits from a single faction sale.

The problem is that if you want to sell lots and loads of FP your customers have to be rich enoug, which they can't be if they don't sologroup anylonger.

Or did i miss something?

True, but they may have the money now and will need to spend it to get to keep the higher level missions.

and then there is the bugged ability to add 19 ATSTs to your "solo" group. As pets do not split the payout, Imps who bug have the upper hand.

there is also a drop in AP required to master coming with the update (11.2). it will now only require 300 AP for master (hurrah).

Big trouble, this.

First of all, this is a direct nerf to only the combatants. While it will eventually trickle down to the non-combat professions by way of what the people can afford, there will be a period between where we are faced with low-income, high-prices. Better stock up on creds and supplies now, because soon you wont be able to afford them.

Secondly, as stated above, SOE-set costs will remain high, creating issues for things like FP sales and ship deeds. If it costs me a month's salary just to have my ship deed made into a ship, I wont bother! As already mentioned in this thread, faction sales will decrease simply because it will no longer be easier to make money than FP... quite the opposite, actually. In reality 95.4 cr per delegated imperial fp at colonel will prove prohibitivly high. I would expect to see only earned and stockpiled fp to become a viable trade-something all professions can do.

Spice sales will drop (as if JtL's lack of need for them wasnt enough) both because of the loss of income and the lowered ability to access upper-level missions.

POI spawns will once again become popular as the only items of value become the loot one can obtain from the MOBs there.

Since access to content has been effectively decreased, subsrciptions will waiver. If I can kill endless numbers of 115 level missions by myself, why am I being denied access to them? Lower level missions are such a walk through as to present little challange, and teaming up with others is pointless due to the lack of needing them to complete the mission. No challanges remaining= no reason to continue an account, in the eyes of most.

Soloists, a fairly large portion of subscribers, have become ineffective. While it is true they might not have the same punch as a group, they shouldnt be denied content, just have different content offered that requires a less direct approach. As there is no intention of supporting this style of play in the upper levels, other than *blek* Jedi... *retch*, there is nothing for a person to do alone. We already have forced interactions for crafting and healing. That should be enough. Boba Fett didnt need a troop of 10 thugs to get challanging missions, nor did Luke.

In the end, the "elitists", those with all the credits, won't be eliminated, the gap will not be closed, simply moved to the non-combatant crafters and merchantsexclusively, and the gap widened even more.

the inflation of some of your servers is shocking, 120 credits per fp is standard on farstar. Also nerfing solo goups is a precursor to the nerfing of armour nad buffs, making the soloist incapable of doing what they could before.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Yes..i think you are right..this is not gonna be a good change..for anyone..i have been a crafter since day 1 of shadowfire server...just recently i have given it up to do smuggler..i have always wanted to do this profession and am loving it. This change will be bad in my opinion! no money for players..no uber attachments, no nothing! not a good situation!

Ok... time for some math...

...and more than a little fear on my part...

*Realistic case senario* - cooperative and coordinated grouping:

5 masters in a group = highest payout on dantooine. (roughly)

In an "Improved Job Market", those missions go for 31k for Janta and Mokk, by far the fastest I've run, and drop some decent loot.

In the proposed system, in order for that payout all must be present and "help" in the run.

In order to break even, you would have to pull off10 missions within 100m or so at the same speed as one currently pulls off 2. *not likely*

Figuring speed would never be fast enough, lets say you can get 5 in the time we currently do 2.

(5 * 31000) / 5 = 31000cr vrs in the same time (2 * 31000) = 62000cr

This represents a 50% drop in income in the best expected circumstances, and requires not just grouping, but coordination and cooperation, something I see rarely on even a scale of 2 never mind 5.

*Worst case scenario* - no more grouping:

I currently pull down 1.2 million a buff session as a TKM in a solo group. This is using 31000cr missions. Roughly 400k per hour.

If I am to be forced into true soloing, I will be making a mere 6500cr per mission.

If 31k equals 400k an hr, then 6500k equals 83870/hr or around 251k a buff session.

Proof:

31000 / 400000 = 6500 / x

6500 * 400000 = 31000 x

2600000000 / 31000 = 31000 x / 31000

83870.98 = x

This is a mere 21%, a 79% drop in income!

I dont know about you, but I seriously doubt we will see a 50% reduction in supply prices, nevermind 79%!

I think it sucks. My main source of income is 40K janta missions. I don't have any multi million credit slicing contracts or can I sell faction because I'm neutral, and this will kill what's left of the spice market, I just thank the force I found a good guild.

I guess I'll have to rely on money I make from smuggling...
