Dear Devs,

thanks for Bubble Tanks and Talus mission. Thanks for planned (really ?) improved combat specials for smugglers.

But thats NOT what the community is waiting for.

Smugglers want to smuggle !!!

Its as simple as that. Smuggling missions. ANY type. Space. Or space and ground.

(and I dont mean undetectable stuff put into a droid storage compartment = 100 % success smuggling for all non-smugglers)

Think about it !

Have fun

A full and robust Smuggling system

1. Mission Terminals - (glorifield delivery mission) - mechanics are already in game just need smuggler terms and missions in criminal theme parks. These mission can be done all day every day and xp goes to the Underground Tree. If you fail the mission you build up visablity points for the BH terminals.

2. NPC quest - mechanics are already in game and any or all Crime theme parks are all set for this. High end stuff like Spice and ship parts that can be sold to players for big $$would be your carge if we steal the shipment or fail we run a bigger risk of being on the BH terminals. These questwould only be avalible once every 24hrs.

3. Tuffer Imperial crack down - (playergood's smuggling) - mechanics are already in game. Make random star ports (rotate it so its a player suprise)very tuff to get illegal good out of and remove the Imp and droid exploit. Players will have to group with us to get off world.

4. Jedi/Faction Tef masking - (player smuggling) - mask sent is in game so the basic mechanics are there. Smuglers should be able to mask a Jedi from the BH's andmask a tefed or overt player/group from another faction. So as to not over power this skill it only works for 10min once every hour, can failand while the player will look covert (blue not red dot) or drop off a BH's droid search a BH (if the jedi is in his sights) or opposing faction can still lock onto and attack if they see threw our trick.

Im not sying we should have one of these Im saying we should have them all, then every smuggler has options as to how he wants to play his smuggler (i.e. solo or with other players)

Excellent summary.

What do you think about a toggle for smugglers .... "I want to be hunted by NPC bounty hunters / PC Bounty hunters" ?

Key it in with Visibility points .... which you get for being successfully scanned and

a) pay a fine and lose your cargo , which gives you some negative Imperial faction and a pissed off crime lord

b) kill the scanning ships and losing a roll based on your smuggler ability (scrambling their com did not work) .. LOTS of negative imp faction

c) being killed by scanning ships ... no negative imp faction, some visibility

d) Infamy points ... a VERY successful smuggler that never gets caught will at some point become so (in)famous that people DO hear about him

After a smuggler has accumulated enough Visibility, a BH comes after him .. a player OR an NPC (Tier 5 in a Firespray ... or based on amount of Infamy Points from weak solo BH to several very strong NPCs). Player BHs get their missions from the BH terminals.

Smugglers can exchange their Infamy points for some rewards = essentially like the faction points of rebels and imps.Or we could get a special ability like Bomber Strike, but it costs Infamy Points (we ask some fellow smugglers to help us out).

Infamy Points and Visibility are reduced every day, so you cant accumulate endless amounts of points.

Just food for thought

Ah yes, more suggestions

we could get player made smuggler compartments and radio scramblers (that ONLY smugglers can use) from shipwrights or as rewards from the Crime Lords (e.g. Jabba) that help us avoid scans or avoidthat word gets out that we killed scanning ships. These items WILL have a space and energy requirement, so smugglers will need to trade between ship components and smuggling gear.

They could have an effect of up to +40 .... in addition to our smuggling ability (e.g. +95 for master smuggler) = 95 to 135.

And some space zones have a modifier based on how much patrol ships are there (e.g. the corridor between Corellia and Talus is -50 .. so its not easy to smuggle there even for an elite smuggler while some areas in deep space have +0). If you have to meet a contact in a dangerous zone, the payout will be higher.

Actually smuggling through Corellia can get even easier. Corellia is a node point and high traffic area (at that not just ingame)

We couldn't play SWG without Tiggs. Now we can =)

But still, most smuggling was done on the Smuggler Moon around Nal Hutta. Without nosey CorSec scanning your ship every half parsec.

Question:

Should BHs only be able to hunt smuggler ships over a certain visibility IN SPACE (and not on the ground) ?

Or everywhere ?

I hate feeling like someone could just hop into space to avoid law enforcement or vigilante justice.

I remember back pre Publish 9 when they said that if they implimented smuggler content at that time they would only have resources to put in smuggler missions from terminals. The community said they'd rather wait than only get that much.

We got what we asked for. We're on waiting with NO definitive date for our revamp. Furthermore we're now having coniptions over NPC missions that aren't just for smugglers.

I think we would have been better off with those smuggler mission terminals back in Publish 9....

The pub notes for that patch did not list terminal missions what it listed were a bunch of bug fixes and way, way off the mark changes to our current skills (like slice kits for non smuggler players) We fliped out over the poor revamp.

JtL is meant to be an expansion of the ground game, not a separate entity.

Really ? I stand in the village which I was just able to enter. Did my FS crafting assembly quest (nice mini game). Cant convert a single XP from my Master Shipwright XP. Not a seperate entity my ass :-)

But tell you what ! Smuggler is the BEST crafter in the Village quests. For our humble Shadowpaw we get an almost 1:1 ratio from one cheap, crappy resource unit into one FS crafting experience point. YEAH ! We Smugglers rule !

now ... when do we S.M.U.G.G.L.E. !!!?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
