Thread: smuggler revamp coming soon ?

so, you guys think you will get your revamp after the combat revamp ?
just wondering after all youve been pushed back alot

I think we'll be right after the CU. Of course, I believe this in the same way I believe everything the devs tell us about smuggling: not at all, but I really hope it's true this time.
They also have said a few things about their being a number of classes revamped right after the CU, which gives me a very deep set of worries about what that means in terms of how much attention we'll get and how likely they are to do it right this time.
On the other hand, for some reason (possibly brain damage) I do think that, when it comes, our revamp's going to be pretty good. It's hard to explain why I feel that way (definitely brain damage), but I do.

I tend to be a "glass is half full" Smuggler, but I've also taken a hiatus from Smuggler, started another character, and am currently lying in a "dormant Smuggler state" waiting to see what happens. (Meaning, I'm keeping some of the skill boxes, and will ramp back up to Master if it tickles my fancy. Meanwhile, I will entertain my sadistic 8 profession-spanning character build.)
So yes, sure. I do hope we will get the Smuggler revamp sometime in the near enough future after the Combat Revamp.

i remember when they said they were going to change ID, then they did it and now I cant ID 50% of the time because of server lag

I'd sooner second mortgage my home, take my lifes savings and bet onone hand of blackjackin Vegas than I would bet a sawbuck on the smuggler revamp.

Yep, id love to see smuggler + ranger as the first two, purely because im a master smuggler, used to be a ranger and it has so much potential for fun, and my best mate is working towards master ranger too. So im not biased at all

As more CU info comes out, I find myself getting more and more excited. Not only at the fact that the game will be more enjoyable, and hence reducing (somewhat) the need for an urgent Smuggler revamp, but also that the devs will actaully deliver the revamp
I think things are looking up, and I'm feeling pretty damn positive.Perhaps it's a sideeffect of too much spice? Who knows

As much as I would like to be positive that "this is the time", I just can't do it. We've seen things shift before, and I have this sneaking suspicion that a suit somewhere in the hierarchy of SOE will determine that since the GCW effects everyone in the game, much like combat, it should get moved up in the queue and recieve attention before the non-combat professions.
Sorry for the pessimism, but sadly, there are these nasty things called precedents...

Personally, I'd expect Smugglers to be the Number 2 revamp - the profession most in need of a revamp are those poor struggling Jedi. SURE they got 2 revamps already - but frankly - is that enough?? I say No - that they need far more love!! I'd love to see Jedi get our Feign Death skill - heck - we don't need it, let the poor Jedi take it and if there are any other skills that they want from Smugglers, why heck - they should have them!!
<sigh> Sorry, Monday morning 6:10am - my sarcasm filter doesn't kick in until 6:30am.

Right after the CU? Probably not.
The Devs will no doubt continue to push back the Smuggler revamp until either all Smugglers have quit the game or SWG is discontinued. Besides, according to the Devs, there's more important revamps to do first... like the Kreetle and Nuna revamp. After all, Kreetles and Nunas are much more important to SWG then Smugglers are.
But seriously... I'm sure the other professions (such as Commando, Ranger, Marskmen, Pistoleer, ect.) will get a revamp before Smuggler does. We're at the very end of their "to-do" list, no doubt. Look for the revamp atleast a year or so after the CU.
The Smuggler revamp is just another sticky note on the Developer refridgerator that has fallen to the ground and slid under the fridge, never to be found again.

I've hit a state of perpetual "eventually". I know it's coming, sometime. I just don't really care when anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if they bumped up the GCW revamp first but how much have they already completed on it and so forth. Remember the CURB has been in the works for a very long time now.
Our revamp has been too (supposedly). Perhaps they have some stuff already worked out and maybe we WILL be first after the CURB.
Hell, I don't even know when the CURB is supposed to hit.

I'd say in atleast six months. Probably more. It's not even out of the ALPHA test yet.
