Thread: Shadowpaw Upgrade

So I had an idea to improve Shadowpaw and thus improve the smuggler profession.Shadowpaw would be turned into a specially-made spice. Maybe it requires more resources, or higher quality resources. However, the effect would be drastically altered -- the same stats as now, but upon ingestion, it TEFs you against everyone in 25m... effectively making you get high and kill everybody. The TEF would last a few minutes.HOWEVER, such a drug (if used repeatedly) causes brain damage and makes you lose XP if you use it too much. It can also make your character thin drastically, and vomit at random times. What do you all think?
A couple of problems with that:
1) Shadow Paw is a hallucenogen and depressant, you are more likely to see swirly colors than to flip out in a rage.
2) And this is the big problem, it would be exploited to hell and back by griefers who would "trip" out in cantinas and the like just to PvP people against their will.

QFE!!!!!!
Well, I think there's an element of strategy in allowing you to attack everyone. Let me illustrate.
Afully templated crafter is CL1. He'll get toasted by even the smallest of MOBs. So what does a crafter do when his harvester is surrounded by something that will just triple incap him? He enlists the help of a CL80 combat prof.
A fully templated combat prof is CL80. Sure, he can fight well, but can't make a gun for crap! Nor can he produce armor or other goods, so he relies on crafters.
Everyone relies on ents for buffs and the like... but who do the ents rely on? That's right... nobody! In my opinion, they should rely on Combat Professions to keep them safe from insane drug-crazed addicts who get high and start killing people in cantinas.
Okay, Glitterstim is THE Spice of Star Wars... When Han claims the Falcon made the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs, it was to hijack Glitterstim from transport vessels, that's what a Kessel Run is.
And no, we don't have it...
Shadowpaw is the equivilent to Peyote... it's a natural powder that's smoked, traditionaly by Ewoks, who are very tribal and primative in nature, as well as spiritual.
And for the record, a lot of spices can be equated to RL drugs... Grey Gabaki is Reefer, Giggledust is cocaine, and Gunjack would be the equivelant to steroids I beleive, the 'body building additive'.
Drugs are bad, m'kay? ![]()

Well, regardless, we need a drug that will make someone trip out and shoot everyone.
Um, no, we really don't. Go play GTA if that is what you are after.

To be tripping AND depressed sounds like a recipe for some bad sh!t to happen.
Perhaps there can be a suicide option in case your drug-induced rampage goes wrong.
