Well after searching for a pricing calculator to actually figure out my cost and try to figure out what I should actually charge, I was disappointed not to find one. I may have not looked hard enough, but alas I didn't find one. My solution, take the Chef Calculator and modify it to fit my needs.

You may find it useful to.

It can be found here.

And if that didn't work it's found here at http//:www.ifl-swg.org/Downloads.

Well, this is for those that actually want to know their costs, lol. I am sure that 19k is well above your costs plus makes you a tidy little profit to boot. This is just for those more uhmmm....those can make diamonds out of coal.....people like me .

Or also for those that may find it a useful business tool to set a price becuase they may want to try and increase their traffic.

is that a "i'm rich so i will underprice" statement? cause theres a few people on my server who are obviously very rich and dont sell crates of 25 for more than 3000. its people like that who underprice that deserve to get a good pistol whipping behind the mos eisley cantina!

i personally stick to 15000 for the upper spices, and 10000 for the lower, sells pretty well, guess some people just need their fix.

Not real sure why you would need a calculator for spice. There is no experimentation, so it's not like the end product is ever going to vary.

Sure, if you use 50cpu resources to craft your spices instead of 2cpu resources, you'll probably want to charge more to recover your costs - but why would the end user want to pay more for your product when they can buy the exact same thing from somebody else who used cheap resources at a lower price?

All spice should have a set, standard price - which will hopefully go way up when we stop crafting it and start smuggling it.

Starside has a guy who does that. 3000cr a crate and even labels them that so you can't resell them higher....

Yeah... I *hate* that guy...

But then again, I'm the one everyone on the server was accusing of undercutting during the spice stacking days...

I swear! I pushed my prices up! ...just not by 200% like the rest of the server...

Yea, he has driven my sales down. Now I can't even get bazaar sales anymore than 1 or 2 a week.

lol- you're kidding? I thought we were the most hated by you guys...

The way I see it, he's still got a 100% markup, not bad, but hardly worth the time, IMO. *shrugs* In any case, I'll leave the undercutting-bashing for another thread. Besides, if thats all the credssomeone thinkstheir time is worth, so be it. Perhaps the idea of mission-based spicing as opposed to crafting-based will prove the great equalizer- If it takesus an hour's worth of intense playing to get 5 crates vrs simply wandering off to the lowest-priced resource vendor and setting the factories to run in less than half that time for 40, perhaps things will look a bit different.

Back on topic- nice calc, helps me see exactly what I'm spending in maint and power, something I'd always just fudged. Bravo!

to me it seemed simple...Pixie takes 45 resources...a crate of 25 is 1125...x 3 cpu =3375 creds at cost.

so you need to add overhead...Harvestor cost upkeep power inc plus swoop liciencing fees and travel time to the bazzar...etc etc more business jargon here etc etc... lets say 30%

3375 x 30% = 4388 creds

add profit margin...me 20% maybe more for you...

4388 x 20% = 5265 a crate!

bam...done

no need for excell worksheets!

Tapoh...paying customer since July 03....
