Thread: concussion shot getting nerfed to the stoneage?
Once people get to see the other end of it, they're going to hate it! Moohahahaha!
If they nerfed it back to the stone age it be a melee attack only usable with Stone Knives. I do support nerfing our abilities back to the Pie Age however. I'm pretty sure Low Blow with a rhubarb pie would bea KD attack again.

My character is a soloer this effects me alot, as a smuggler with an independant nature i only group for really big game hunting even then it is as a last resort.
I dont mind grouping before Valour became a smuggler he was a carbineer/combat medic and was sole group character and thats all he did, now i wanted a break i wanted to play solo and a mez is useless to me and having waited ages to come back to smuggler now im regreting doing so.
Trust me if i wanted to be uber i wouldnt be smuggler all i want is to be able to hold my own and having a mez doesnt do that because it doesnt matter how many times i mez they are still going to get close and rip through my pathetic defences and outdamage me with my pathetic damage output.
I think this "change" is the last thing we needed there were so many more important issues to do before this such as at least make our other specials worth it, believe me i have tested all these in many occassions and they are useless the only smuggler ability i use is concussion shot and my BH abilities, since slicing is messed up aswell i have a lot of sp invested in something which doesnt help me one bit.
I have stopping shot with pistol stances but still less and less of my smuggler skills have any use and instead of giving us some sign of any changes being on the way we get this which isnt urgent.
I have always viewed smuggler as a loner now i have a gimped template and the prospect of getting player BH's on my back isnt a welcome thought.

I was always adamant that Smuggler should not be a combat prof, but we eneded up becoming one, and yeah I'm having fun killing stuff. But rewind to before the CU and grab that thougth back, we're not a combat class, we're evasive, we're get-out-of-jailers, we're skin-of-teethers.
So while ConcussionShot becoming a paralyze weakens us in terms of combat lethalness, it will actually move us closer to the ultimate goal of making us true Smugglers. When you're caught red handed at Bestine starport with a hold full ofdirty, dirtyTusken gay porn, you don't need a root to escape, you need a paralyze. When a big bad Bounty Hunter attacks you out of the blue for giving Jabba half the illegallyimported frogs he paid for, you dont need to kill the hunter, you just need to escape, and that's what I'm choosing to see this move as. Let the dabblers migrate to Pistoleer to grab the lethal root, and give us the cowardly version
But I insist that LowBlow be some kind of posturedown move. We need a KD or equivalent.

I like the concussion shot in its fixed "mez" form, if they don't do something horribly wrong to it in the process of course. Fits the "escape skill" descriptions seen in a few proposals on the forum (something that prevents the opponent from attacking you while you pull your bike out, remember that stuff?).
And related to the posturedown move - I wonder why they didn't make postures a bit more important in the CURB. Think it was the time/manpower constraints as usual or they really decided they shouldn't be important at all for some silly reason?
I would've loved to see some more posture-specific attacks (currently I think the only one like that is a single Rifleman special - someone correct me if I'm wrong), such things could've created more complex/realistic strategies for large scale battles.

Psst! We already have a decent snare. I use restraining shot to kitemelee mobs withzero problems. I have been training myself to get use to not having the root. If something gets too close slow its attack with Lowblow and panic shot til you can snare and OOR again. Also if you have any CM with Stims you are fine. I just have Doc xxx2 and I do fine.Personally I won't mind a real properlyworking mez myself.
