Thread: So close to being a criminal...yet so far

For the first time since playing today I was stopped. Completely caught me off guard. I was wandering around near AH on my swoop when I was violently knocked off. A Storm Trooper then russhed up to me and seached me...finding nothing (even though I was carrying five sliced weapons and a sliced suit of comp) he sent me on my way.
I was so close to getting a fine for my illegal activites. Yet, it didn't happen. Maybe one day our profession will be considered criminal...one day. *sigh*

Nowadays if I want to get fined I just start insulting the stormtroopers or saying 'long live the rebellion'.
Those fines pile up fast.

I dont get it, your saying you dont want to be a good smuggler? The fact that the ST couldnt find your obviously top grade handy work on your weapons and armour offends you?
Personally, i get a bit teary when the stormies FIND contraband on me, not when i get past em.
Oh well, each to thier own 
You could always go to Bestine and slap ST's, thats sure to get you a bad rep

My issue is mainly that in months of playing, this is the first time I've actually been searched.

Just be glad that if you fail the contraband search, they don't confisgate your high dmg sliced DE-10

I almost wish that were the case. You'd find a lot more people giving smugglers things to smuggle. and it would certainly be more of a threat then getting fined a few credits. and running might seem like a viable option. Let's see... as a rebel, if i stand there, and am caught, i get fined. if i run, i'm forced overt. not just a tef, but OVERT. big choice there...
OR! even better. they stop allowing storage droids to be used to avoid the scans, and give smugglers special storage droids that can do that. Then we could finally stop slicing for everyone else, and we'd all have the uber weapons that nobody else had. YAY!!!!!!

I've got a 100K debt with the Empire. I get nastygrams from them every day. I'm waiting to see what, if anything, will happen to me for not paying it.

I get stopped and searched ALL THE TIME- but that is because I tend to fly through Kor Vella a lot (lag-o-net just rips me up).
Sometimes I don't notice I've been stopped and I run past and end up getting turned overt. Which brings me to this lil' tidbit-
If you want some excitement GO OVERT. It ain't exactly smuggling but you DO tend to find yourself in unpleasant situations- I had a lot of fun the last time some STs blew my cover. I was overt for like a week- until some wookie beat the crap outta me (I will never understand Imp wookies).
Anyway- my two cents.

I got annoyed getting stopped (happened to me WAY to frequently) so I decided to make a change from Master Smuggler / Artisan / Architect...
Now I'm a Master Smuggler / Commando / Marksman with some Pistoleer.
When I get stopped, I simply turn to the offender and teach him what the business end of a high-end 35% damage sliced launcher pistol (with an added speed/damage power-up on top of that)can do with low blow.
Stormtrooper t*stical flambe, anyone?

I once got stopped by an Imperial Probe Droid (no joke) in the middle of nowhere on Yavin, and it attempted to search me. I blew it up, of course. Silly Droid.

I get stopped alot as well. Tatooine, Naboo, Corellia. I've been searched by a probe droid that smashed down like in ESB.
I only got fined once (50 faction), because i din't turn off auto run in time, and they thought I was trying to run off. I find it odd that the patrols take time to search (and fine) fellow imps though.
