I just went to Gamestop's web site to check on the status of the bonus CDs and see if the release date for Jump to Lightspeed had changed.
Under the description for the features of "Jump to Lightspeed", they have this line:
"* Work your way through 4 new professions, ranging from Shipwrights, who create and customize starships, to Privateers, who are the smugglers of space "
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to say 'screw the c-forum post' and got in touch with Tiggs. Sent her the info.
Marketing may be to blame but Gamestop isn't SOE either.

I was one of the first smugglers in Beta & I hung in there as a smuggler in this game for as long as I could until I got thoroughly disgusted & dropped the profession. This is just like the final kick in the teeth from SOE to smugglers & anyone who ever loved the profession & had high hopes for it. I honestly don't believe they'll EVER fix or revamp this profession. This is just SAD!! They didn't even tell Caylin.

Now folks, it's not a matter of them not telling me. Tiggs didn't know what on earth I was talking about. She sent that information on though to some others who would be interested in seeing that. She has been really helpful

Why? It doesn't bother me in the slightest. Can't expect everyone to know everything that is going on yah know. She made the effort to send it on to others that might have some knowledge of why this was said.

After checking EB Games and not being able to find the same wording in their pages, I am feeling that this is just Gamestops vision and comments. Altho, you would think they would have SOE approved wording on a game advertisement don't ya? Can I sue Gamestop for me not being able to smuggle in space? I hope SOE gets Gamestop to change this, it really is quite the insult.

Guys
I am an active participant in the JTL Beta. Without trying to conciously break the NDA, I would suggest that the community keep the following in mind.
JTL was designed and coded in part by GreenMarine
GreenMarine is assigned to be the developer in charge of the Smuggler Revamp.
GreenMarine displayed an a passion for the profession we all love in his posts on this forum.
Given his passion for Smuggler, it is easy to see how some of JTL came to be.
I would think that GreenMarine (Not to presume to speak for him) would look to expand upon his JTL work with the Smuggler Revamp.
All this being said, as a Smuggler in Live and a Privateer in Beta, I do not feel that we are being gimped/replaced by a space based profession, ratherlook at it as complementing our profession.
P.S. Given what has been publically mentioned about Privateer in the last Friday Feature, I wouldconsider some of those skills to be akin to Dirty Fighting in space.

The one thing I will hate, since I have no intentions of getting it till they fix the two horrible parts of it, is if they make JTL required to smuggle. I'm also an active JTL participant and I can say that so far I'm disappointed and I'll leave it at that.
