I don't want to jump the gun here, but I do want to get clarification on this point form the start (overheared in the AS forum):
Edit for clarification: Does this mean that a non-AS master smuggler cannot use his or her discount on faction purchases to aquire schematics for their Armorsmith customers?
Blixtev wrote:Schematics are bought in 10 use schematic packs from the recruiter by the Armorsmith using faction points , you must be in the faction and a master armorsmith and have enough points to buy them. You can then put a core into the appearance and sell the faction armor. The Buyer must Bio-Link the armor to their bodies by spending faction points from a menu that pops up the first time they try and equip the piece. Bio-Linked armor can be traded by only equipped by the person it is linked too.

I just hope armorsmiths can craft factional armor or else we're getting shafted. We might as well give up armorsmith if the best armor in game is obtained thru FP and recruiter only.
as i heard it its made with schems, we make the armor, they bring the schems (or we find the schems and sell the armor)

I do believe that's what it means
But looks at it this way. that means we have to sell MORE faction to the AS than we'd have to use, thus making a greater profit.
Here's hoping factional armor let's us make money twice, once for the FP, once for the slice.

Man, if we can't get the armor ourselves, that's gonna suck. Prices for armor are going to be extremly high because the AS will have to take his/her time and earn enough FP to get the schematics. Not to mention they'll be limited too.

A smart AS will make a deal with a Smuggler to get FP for cost, and cut the Smuggler a break on armor prices.

Exactly, so for us it might not be that bad a deal.
But I can imagine some debate on the AS forum , because that restriction push them to be factionned. A neutral AS will be severly limited.

biigest b*tch about this is that my AS is Imp and II'm rebel... so I'll have to buy my dumb recon armor at full price... or get it for free off an AS that i sold the schem too...

Oh its gonna be helacious expensive unless they drasticly lower FP costs for a full suit. For 1, most M. AS dont do combat, so they will have to purchase FP to get the schems, and you know how much that can cost. Its insane.
As soon as possible, someone should find out the schem prices from a recruiter. I dont want to have to pay 2-5mil for a suit of armor, thats crazy.

A smart AS is also a master smuggler too. Grinded Smuggler 3 times because I thought it was a good idea to have a smuggler alt. Also we have enough pts over for merchant 0,0,0,4. I think some AS are going to pick up smuggler for armor certifications so we don't get killed by the wildlife at our factories.

I question how much factional armor there really will be. Dev indicated that the costs will be about the same as it is now. Half of the costs being purchasing the schem and the other half will be bio-linking (customizing the armor to fit you).
We might see more factional armor but how many are going to pay the current FP costs just for a different skin.

I have a feeling that the game is going to start looking like the "good ole' days" that my brother tells me about. Back when people rarely had armor.

I don't think I really have a problem with this. I'd like to be able to sell them the schematic, but I'm content selling them the FPs. I wouldn't even worry about faction farming until we know how much these will cost. Even so, the ASs will want to have a good supply ASAP.

I don't think that it will ahve as huge of an impact as it seems. A lot of AS's are alts, or at the least associated with guilds. Which means that they can exchange FP with any of their guildies or alts using /delegate.
There definitely will be a market for Smugglers to sell FP to them though. Hopefully it will be another aspect of an already profitable business.

Until you factor in that you lose some FP in the transfer... and that schematics are a lot more convenient to sell than FP.
