Ok First I assume you are going to Master Smuggler, then I assume you are going to master Pistoleer too, for the certs if not the mods. Here are the numbers I get for a few templates:

MASTER PISTOLEER/MASTER SMUGGLER/COMMANDO 4440

GENERAL RANGED SPEED-55

PISTOL SPEED-45

GENERAL RANGED ACCURACY-195

PISTOL ACCURACY-40

MELEE DEFENSE-185

RANGED DEFENSE-160

PISTOL DEFENSE-50

MASTER PISTOLEER/ MASTER SMUGGLER /BOUNTY HUNTER 0040

GENERAL RANGED SPEED-59

PISTOL SPEED-45

GENERAL RANGED ACCURACY-167

PISTOL ACCURACY-40

MELEE DEFENSE-170

RANGED DEFENSE-156

PISTOL DEFENSE-50

MASTER PISTOLEER/ MASTER SMUGGLER/RIFLEMAN 4400

GENERAL RANGED SPEED-50

PISTOL SPEED-45

GENERAL RANGED ACCURACY-195

PISTOL ACCURACY-40

MELEE DEFENSE-135

RANGED DEFENSE-185

PISTOL DEFENSE-50

Personally, I think I'll be doing the commando one. It has the best Accuracy and Defenses, plus its has 18 skill points left over (because we already have the pre-reqs after smug/pistol) for a bit of medic or scout. Anf I'll be able to throw greandes and use a flame thrower

I think we'll have to wait to see how balanced the specials are before we can discount any of them though. And we'll have to see if the scout armor mitigation bonuses from rifleman stack.

nice idea, but until i hear more information or we get further along in testing.....i belive i've heard it from several places that none of the skills will stack, other than being able to use pistoleer specials while a smuggler pistol is equipped.

What skills? I don't understand, what of the numbers above will not stack?

Also, it seems to be the rule rather than the exceptin that abilities will work cross weapons. i.e. You will be able to use some of the specials you get in rifleman even with your pistols. Just look at marksman, all 3 basic specials are the same, just awarded in a different order.

Or are you saying something is going to change?

i belive that specials and abilites like say stopping shot will work with a smuggler pistol, that i have little doubt of. Its my assumption that weapon speed, accuractly etc will not stack like they do now.

Prime example is Teras Kasi, if you look at that line the defenses are amazing, but if you have a pistol in your hand you most likely not get the benifits of the teras kasi defence. Perhaps it won't even work with a pike or a sword in your hand.

i have another idea completely....

m.smuggler / m.rifles / pistoleer 4103

going by this thing and realizing that nothing is set in stone, and that the effective speed caps on something like rifles aren't really known (e.g. not 1.0 sec, but at what speed does the benefit of more speed mods start to not be seen) it gives you:

1) good defenses
2) seemingly very speedy in both wep classes (+45 pistol, +65 rifle, +55 general ranged)
3) a farking pile of accuracy mods
4) how many shared specials & wep certs?

and since one of my 2 smugglers is already msmuggler/mrfiles w/scout this might be where i head regarless of how #s are tweaked later

Yeah, I definetly have to say I am less than impressed with the mods for pistoleer compared to rifleman...but then again the documentation said rifleman were supposed to have better offense.

But the idea behind Master Pistoleer is for all the weapon certs and maximizing your mods by minimizing your weapon types. I.E. Since you will always being using pistols, pistol speed, accuracy, and defense will always be active. Because as people mentioned here I don't think mods of different types will stack.

not stacking? not shared? what mods specifically are people thinking of here? Or are you just saying specials wont stack?

see, there is pistol defense, pistol accuracy and pistol speed and then there are melee defense, general ranged speed and general ranged accuracy.

If general ranged speed gained by pistol XP isn't "counted" if you're holding a rifle what is the point? Why would a box like Pistol Grips III give you +5 pistol speed *and* +5 general ranged speed if the mods weren't expected to be used across weapon classes???

See, if you look at the smuggler skillset alone (along with pre-reqs) you actually have more generic mods then pistol specific mods which is why I went looking to take advantage of that. toss in Marksman 0004 which is needed for any other ranged elite and you're well on your way to pwning with any ranged wep... and doing ok with a pistol if only for backup.

No, no... I am sure "general" modsstack with the mods for whatever you are wielding. I think what someone was saying is that you don't get pistol speed and rifle speed at the same time.

Also, about having a template with more "general" mods to let you use whatever weapon, I have heard (though it could be rumors or might change anyway) that the specific modifiers are worth more. So like +50 pistol speed would allow you to shoot faster than +25 ranged speed and +25 pistol speed combined.

No of course not. If hold a pistol you will get pistol speed + general spd. Rifle will be rifle spd + genral spd, etc. Not sure about the pure weapon spd being better than the weapon + general. Don't think any profession has JUST weapon spd, it's a combo of weapon and general.

For example my alt will be TKM/Master pistol/ smug 4030 with mods of

Gen range accu +115....Pistol accu +40
Gen range spd +40......Pistol spd +45
Ranged def +100........Pistol def +40

Total mods for using pistols should be accu +155, spd +85, ranged def +140, melee def +170 (not sure about that but seems right) or could be +210 (pistol + melee)

Gen melee accu +70.....UA accu +105
Gen melee spd +25......UA spd +80
Melee def +170.........UA def +75

Total mods for UA accu +175, spd +105, melee def +245, ranged def +100 (+175)

So you see while I am unarmed I'm more accurate, faster and defend better than if I have a pistol in hand. Difference will be which specials do I want to use. If I want to use my melee specials I have to go UA, if the pistols specials would be more useful then I arm my pistol. Could always drop someone in their tracks with stopping shot or something then switch to VK and run up and smash them

I'm looking for these answers also.

Do the FS sklls sgtack with the non FS kskills

If i go MS/MC with the TK and Pistoleer5 melee defenses (( the character builder stopped a 99 points but that mifhgt be a limitation on the character builder itself.

to add the FS skills soeof the Pistoleer and or TRK skills must be dropped . when all TK and Pistoleer skills are replaced with the FS melee defenses the total dropped to 49. I lost 50 points.

Until it is verified supposedly all pistols specials yo know can be used with any pistol regardless of the skill set thatcertified the pistol. Pistoleer specials can be use with the Smuggler Rengade pistol.

Also it may be that all armor mitigation can stack between profs.

BTW Does armor accuracy mitigation mean that the armor is harder to target and hit?

Armor lowers your accuracy, that mod cancels out the lowering.
