Thread: The last(?) disappointment...

Where i can start? Maybe at the begining... I picked up smuggler in january. I thought it would be cool, usefull for my guild and allow me to RP a bit ... ( and lol Han was always my favorite character). It was not an easy life.. and the missing contents.. But there was something more i missed .. I wanted to have a home.. a den ..or something like that... First i thought i will do master musician to be able to place a cantina to make a place for my operation.. But tbh a single room cantina with 5 (or 6) lots is not the best place for some shady business.. So i gave up this plan...
When i first got the info that in JTL i can own a YT-1300 I was so excited..When finaly i got my JTL it was obvious that i would choose to be freelancer and work for the Smuggler Alliance.. And yesterday with the help of my friends I was able to made my mastery (thank again guys you where great:smileyvery-happy

.I was so eager to see my new ship .. i wanted to furnish it ... So I set up my brand new YT-1300 and launched to the space... I was so excited.. I left the cockpit seat fast and start to running around my new ship start to explore it.. Wanted to see my rest room.. a social quater ... the storage.. OOPS
All I have found was a huge corridor with full of device controls for repairs... no rooms.. no nothing.. no place for my paintings for my furnitures...
I wanted a ship which can be my second home... but this ship interior is look like a combat ship not a freighter or a smuggler ship... And for combat... well you can have a huge mass.. and maybe with 3-4 ppl on the board it canan effective weapon (for dogfight 3-4 X-wing or Rihxyrk is much better and for heavy assault 3-4 B-wing can do more damage imho).
But itsNOT the ship i wanted.. maybe i was wrong .. maybe i expect too much .. dunno.. but I feel sad..

Really?!?
No berths, no galley, no rooms? You know the room with the little chess board...It doesnt have one?

When fully equipped, the YT-1300 has a cockpit room, a sitting room with a few chairs, a couch and a table I think, a small engineering room and the two turrets (top and bottom). It is not a spaceous ship for treating like a house. And frankly, without 2 other crewmates to man the turrets, it will suck in combat.
I myself haven't even considered what my ship will be. I'll prolly get a YT just for the novelty, but mainly use a single seat fighter in space. I have my Yaght as well, but I have only been in it once. I don't see much point in multiplayer ships in this game except for novelty and pre-arranged parties.
I was a bit disappointed with the YT myself when I was in Beta.

Wish I could put a Jubilee Wheel in my Yacht and a couple Lug-Jack machines... That would be uber cool.

fortunately I had the chance to see one, before I started to level up pilot with my smuggler toon, then I switched to rebel alliance (other alt being imp ace), as I saw the nova courrier, this is EXACTLY what you're looking for, a few rooms, corridor, very nice interior, can't wait to have my own one. decimator is cool too, but more like a warship, I decorated a room abit like a cantina tho, but it's more like a dirty place with a loudspeaker and a few benches, still nice looking tho, but definately, go for the courrier if you want a nice interior.

Why is it so many people want that ugly YT-1300?
Why do they expect so much uberness from it? Its not designed to look pretty or feel like home. Its actually got very little space in it. Its a freighter. Nobody ever complains that they're underwhelmed when they see the inside of an eighteen-wheeler.
And why does everyone have to have the Millenium Falcon?
I just don't understand this. With all the potential to be unique and different than the characters in the movies, most people want to be those characters...

Why does everyone want to have Mandalorian Armor?
Why is the Firespray the "top ship"?
Answer: Because in the movies they are cool, and people want to "play the movie"
Oh and for the record according to some old deckplans I saw somewhere or other (in an official Star Wars publication) the Millenium Falcon had 18 room in addition to it's hidden storage areas, so yes, it was that big.

Its not just that... when i saw the movie i wanted be jedi for sure (my parents went crazy lol) but I wanted to became Han solo as well and wanted to own this kind of ship... and that was some decades ago.
Is it enough explanation?
Btw... if its a freighter ..then plz show me the storage hall.. and dont tell me that you will sleep in your chair when you make your cargo run.. and so on and so on ...But Niclas-Frost show me a better multiplayer ship for a Smuggler Alliance Ace pilot and you can be sure i will choose that one.. and No the yacht is really cool but i want to customize my ship and its really slow..

I'd have some trouble furnishing the YT-1300, but it's certainly doable. I turned mine into a bit of a stripjoint, but it was supposed to be seedy, right? 
The Nova has a great layout for furnishing. Square-rooms, long hallways, it's very cool. The YT-1300takes a bit more creativity to make things look good. But I really like the circular layout when it comes to making repairs; once you know where all the panels are, it's easy to get to everything quickly.

In the initial design, the YT was the only one that came furnished (and it didn't look too bad in my opinion). The others came as they are now. It is actually three rooms (one to the immediate left as you come off the ramp), then one before you get to the turret ladder, and finally the larger room before you get back to the cockpit ramp.
People complained (in Beta) about the furnishings and how they wanted the freedom to decorate how they see fit. I personally saw it as an ability to carry more (since the pre-set furniture didn't count against inventory) and thought that was a great feature for Smugglers to be able to "Smuggle" more stuff after our revamp.
I went Rebel because I liked the specials better, and I liked a room to be able to have a window (although small windows).

I love my YT.
I decorated it to my likings and it is very smuggler if you ask me. Granted you do have to be strategic in your placing of items so as not to block repairs, but I love my ship. I set up an office complete with details. I set up a social area, a "smuggling" area... I have crates lying around and some decoration loots as well. I think it is what you make of it.
I will admit that it does not look much like the Falcon...or at least the angles and views we get in the film (other than the cockpit, which is identical) but I would suggest making the ship your own. Decide what you want to use it for. My YT is my personal smuggling headquarters. And just today I encountered a role player who got a real kick out of headin up to space in her to slice some of his stuff.
I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up!
