Thread: Question about buying faction points
Ok I read the guide that is stickied here, and I just want to make sure I got this right. I'm not a smuggler, but I want to buy FP's from a smuggler guildmate that I have. I want 100k FP's, so my smuggler friend would have to be a Colonel to get the 1.18:1 ratio, and buy 118,000 FP's correct? This would cost him 11,800,000 credits all together? And did I read correctly that he can only buy 500 at a time before he has to delegate them to me? Is there a quicker way to do all of this? Thanks in advance ![]()

buying at 10k for 125fp per he can buy 118,000fp for 9,440,000. assuming he doesn't want a profit from ya ![]()
but other than that, ya you got it right. and sadly no, there is no faster way. it will take a long time.
So FP's only cost 80 credits per for smugglers?
10,000 credits/125 FP's =80 credits per FP

it is:
- 10k for 125fp
- or
- 1000c for 10fp
thats the two choices we get when we buy.

Depends on your faction...
Currently, thanks to the 10% bonus from the CoA, Rebels are buying 138 points for 10k...or 72.46 creds apiece. (125 + 13 bonus points).
And 100k faction should only take about an houror an hour and a half, tops. I can do 10k every 5 minutes or so.
Ok I just want to make sure I got everything straight because I'm going to make a large purchase of FP's from a smuggler and I want the transaction to run as smoothly as possible. Here's the scenario:
I'm a rebel, and want to purchase 3 bases. The 60k fp base, andtwo 20k fp bases. For me, this equals 100k faction points. Master Smugglers get a 25% discount, so it would only cost my smuggler friend 75k fps correct?
Since Rebel Smugglers can buy 138 Fp's for 10k because of the CoA bonus faction points cost about 73 credits per (10,000/138=~73). So the total cost to purchase these items would be approximately5,475,000 credits (75,000X73).
This all look right to you guys? Is there a way that I can find out exactly how much this will cost?

Also, from reading the guide I saw something that scared me. It said that there was a FP cap of 500 for smugglers buying FP's. Does this mean my smuggler friend has to transfer the purchased FP's to me every 500 that he buys? This can make things a LOT more expensive, since I'll have to take an additional1.18% hit so I can transfer them all back to him. I need to transfer them back to him so he can get the 25% master smuggler discount. Someone please tell me this isn't true ![]()

When you talk about cost of fp to smugglers, be careful
It's not just:
Imp:10k cr/125 FP = 80 cr/FP
Reb: 10k cr/(125 + 13) FP = 72.46 cr/FP
You also need to include transfer cost. Thus to send 100 FP, you need 118 FP (assuming Coronel). Thus cost to smuggler to send.
Imp: 80 cr/FP * 118/100 = 94.4 cr/FP to send
Reb: 72.46 cr/FP * 118/100 = 85.51 cr/FP to send
What i need to know is, can i imp smuggler transfer the points while im still rebel, or will i have to go to neutral first?
So basicly you're going to have to dig yourself out of that -5000 hole. Usually other smugglers have a special 5200 faction package for flip floppers

You need to resign from your old faction.Alsoyou need to have less then 200fpin your old faction before the new faction recruiter will start selling you all the FP you need. You can only transfer the FP for the faction that you are signed up for at the time, which means you cannot be a reb and sell imp faction.
example:
Going from rebel (with 20000 banked points) to imperial
Step 1, resign from rebel faction
lose 20000 rebel fp (setting you to 0)
step 2, get to +200 imp faction
(can be a pain if you're at -5000)
step 3, Talk to the imp recruiter and join up
