Thread: Anyone ever remember the Everquest Warrior Walk outs?
That's an interesting idea....but would be hard to impiment.
The smuggler prof is broken to a point, but i have other things I can do with my toon. So if I stop playing because of smuggling issues, i won't be able to hunt BH missions.
One way for this to work is to have all the smugglers drop smuggler all together. But the smuggler specials compliment the BH specials good, so I'd still lose out. And having msmuggler and MBH, i can just loot my own slicing parts and make more money as I'm not paying for these myself, and will get more bussiness by charging less.
I don't know eq at all, but if you are only a single class or prof of a character, having a strike for this prof would be easier.
I like the initial idea, just needs alittle tweaking to make it work for SWG. I left my creativity hat at home, so I'll leave any tweaing ideas to everyone else......
Don't get me wrong, im not against your idea, I just thought it might be hard to organize. If you want to, I might evan join the protest.
I was just speaking my mind....granted that's not always a good idea, it's more of a knee jerk reaction sometimes.

I'm not sure if anyone here played EQ during the time that the warriors felt that their position in groups had been upsurped by Shadow Knights and Paladins (Not so much pallys lol) so much so that they were basically irellevant and had no place in the game. So what did they do? They organized a HUGE walkout where all the warriors would stand around the Plane of Tranquility stone and basically do nothing, stand there and basically made it a point that EVERYONE would be able to see how much this affected the community of players in a whole instead of those who thought it was just a few players pissin' and moanin' about what they thought was unfair. Maybe a walk out should be organized if we're to make such a vocalization about our issues. It worked for the warriors, not even 3 days after it started EQ Dev's started to say "I think we really do have a problem here" and thats when they began instituting the new melee changes that you see today (If you were to ever go back, though the question remains, Why would you? (Don't Answer that)).
So you're proposing a "wookiestock" type of event? You remember the protests for wookie armor? We called it "wookiestock" because all the hairy, half naked wookies standing around protesting looked oddly similar to Woodstock in '69... lol
I made a joke of my signature as a result of the whole event that read; "the new wookie armor, hard on the outside, Chewy on the inside".
Damned if it didnt work though! The new wookie armor conceptwas even cannonized later in the most recent star wars movie.
We are the customer! I dont know what makes people feel so powerless to effect the changes they want in the game when we're the ones with the money.
Having said this, there is a good way to do this, and a bad way. I dont condone distructive means of getting your point accross. Protests are OK, but tends to send the "or else" message to the devs, who would naturally play hard ball back. I'veseen the power of reason and open box thinking in regards to "reforming" SWG. Its best if everyone works together and considers all the angles.
To make your feelings known in a constructive manner is one thing. To go up to the people who own the game and spit in their face simply gets you pushed further and further away.

Protests and walkouts don't do jack in this game. Never have. Do you think SOE will do something if all the smugglers suddenly cancel. No, they won't.

I agree and disagree with this statement. It may push them away, but we've seen protests work in the past. There is a better way however.
