Thread: I Actually Smuggled Last Night

So, I'm doing some slicing last night on Correllia and someone asks me to slice 23 weapons for them in preparation for the BH grind. Now I'm going to leap ahead in the story to tell you about my actual smuggling experience:

I'm in the Kor Vella starport and I run out of clamps. My stash is back on Naboo so I decide to check the local bazaar for clamps to finish the job. I'm loaded down with a few cases of spice and a bunch of sliced or soon to be sliced guns and I lumber out to the bazaar out in front of the starport. The place is crawling with stormtroopers and I overhear one of them say, "We've heard that a rebel sympathizer - Banna Darkstar - may be in the area. Stay on alert." Since there were 3 or 4 troopers hanging around the bazaar terminal, I hop on my bike and head over to the terminals by the shuttle. Suddenly I'm jerked off my bike and told to stand by for a contraband search. I was nervous as hell because I had already died once that day for failing a scan. So the trooper walks up to me and says " This one is clean - move along citizen!" I had passed the scan! I'M A SMUGGLER THAT ACTUALLY SMUGGLES! WOO HOO!

Great - a story about how great SWG is, right? Well here's the rest of the story. What was I doing in Kor Vella? I was trying to escape the many many bugs associated with the trade system! My customer and I had been in Coronet. We had a great deal of trouble getting the trade interface to work. Trades were continually canceled before we could finish loading the trade windows up and finally my computer crashed and rebooted on its own. I logged back in and then found that I couldn't trade with my customer at all! We both logged off and on but it still wouldn't work so we decided to hop a shuttle to see if zoning and getting out of Coronet lag would make a difference. That's how I ended up slicing in Kor Vella and that's how I got to actually smuggle.

A story of the SWG experience in a nutshell: Lots of great ideas and potential, ripped to shreds by one frustrating bug after another.

Well, to make things easier, you can always just run from the stormtroopers. If you're nuetral or Rebel, this works out great for you. All that happens is you get 10 seconds to comply to the trooper and then if you don't, you just lose 50 Imp FP and they stop running after you. Pretty, simple found that out when I was a BH running through Kor Vella unaware since I wasn't in spatial, that I was being talked to.

Erm... as a rebel, when you run they will most likely find out you are a "rebel sympathizer" andyou will be Overt until you die. At least that's what happened the last time I just ran from them. Now that I'm a smuggler, I just let them scan me. Haven't failed one yet. I try to avoid them if I can, but if I do get stopped I don't worry about it.

Just don't /glare at at stormtrooper for too long. Did that yesterday and was fined twice, second time they insta-killed me. (wasn't an attackable stormtrooper, just a white dotted one in Coronet)

I thought the NGE couldn't be any worse than the CU, but I was wrong.

I tried to spit on a stormtrooper today...just for fun. I was wacked down fined 5000 credits and lost 50 imp. faction points and was severely insulted by the stormtropper because of my race (zabrak). The thing that annoys me the most is the fact that the stormtrooper was marked with a green star (no match for me) and he wasn't attackable. But still...it was kinda fun

I would say neither what it could be nor what it should be.
