i keep seeing the word mezzing being bandied around
what does it actually mean?

Short for mezmerise, basically its to stop your oppentent in its tracks by wither stopping movement, slowing their attack or slowing them down.

people should always ask queations and not worry about looking like a noob, i bet some of the old vets out there still dont know everything. (trying not to get flamed)

I only know what a "mezzer" is from my recent-ish stint in CoH, so don't worry too much.

hehe i didn't know either. i asked as soon as i read the CU documents and saw the word.
i think with a game like SWG, you have many players (like myself)who are unfamiliar with other MMO's, because we just came for the Star Wars.
either way, i like the idea of "mezzing" or crowd control.
it'll be real interesting if/when we get player BHs coming after us

Heh, good. I was as baffled as anyone. The only thing I could relate it to was a necromancer in D2. Oh dear did I just date myself.
I did get a chance to try this out when Chilly was on test center and it was pretty effective. I only went after Maulers and some Gualamas but they would stop in thier tracks and KD easy when using the smuggler specials and a DL-44xt. Interesting stuff.

Heck, Im a vet and I had no idea what it ment. I just knew smugglers were going to be controllers of crowds.
