Anyone know why iwould want to increase the speed on a weapon? surely it should always be a minus slice?

Slicing is wonky, really wonky. Currently it's possible to lower damage as well.

Yah ok......

Here's the skinny. Veela knows what she's talking about. Too many times we've had people who don't have a clue what to do come in whining and bumbling around about slicing when all they have to do is just check the stickies. Particularly the one labeled "Smuggler FAQ" or "Import Links..." It ain't that hard.

Slicing never ever hurts a weapon's stats. Slicing is wonky right now which is why you're seeing negative slices and positive ones. Used to we would always get "positive" looking slices that wouuld decrease a weapons speed by that much or increase damage by the displayed percentages.

But now theaccurate displayed percentages and randomness is gone. It's based on a weapon's capped stats. So if a weapon is far from it's cap, then it can get a good slice and if it's close to the cap, it gets a bad slice.

If you were to actually pay attention to the weapon you'd have watched the "base damage per second" on the weapon. Regardless of what the slice percentage or stat is displayed, the Damage Per Second is increased. Which means, regardless of what the slicing text tells you after completing the slice, your well will deal more damage per second.

rofl n'joh WONKY hehehe , i gotta add that to my list of funny words

Don't worry, you can slap me...you're a Jedi, I'll just /lastditch.

Then you can cry to the devs about it, like every other Jedi. ::rolleyes::

And until you can tell me you're NOT a Respec Smuggler, I don't want to hear your "yah oks".

If you are new, I forgive you.

If you've respec'd to Smuggler and don't know how to read a sticky, I should slap you.

With those two things said, 22% speed slice decreases the speed by 22%...at least, it should. Slicing is a little screwy right now, but speed slices have never had negative percentages. Think of it as increasing the speed = making it faster. When you increase the speed on a car, does it go slower? No. Same thing with speed slices.

Never recieved a last ditch and wouldnt be bothered if i did, im finished temp and my resussitate only costs me 50k xp so /shrug no whineing from me, i have force armour also and when that is fixed only thing last ditch will do is knock a chunk of health off while greatly reducing my force bar, and then you will have next to no ham at all so one hit bye bye.

Only thing its good for is bh who have no skill and dont want to group to get a kill, in my eyes yes, there shouldnt be a one shot kill button, but at the same time if your target is a master defender uve got a 50% chance of him blockilng it, if he uses valor and then theres the +500 def mod from aura oh and dont forget avoid incap also.........so all in all we have alot of things to combat last ditch, so not that big a deal.

So, that would be a yes on the "I'm a re-spec" smuggler, lol. Speed, damage, who gives a damn, look at the DPS before and after to find out how your item was upgraded.Being asmuggler takes a little bit of brain power, but even a jedishould be able tofigure that one out...

No i used to be a WS smuggler, recently respecced back to smuggler as it fitted both my needs nicely, i simply asked the question why increase by 22% and then increase speed by -7%, surely in your messed up little "ive been a smuggler forever, u know nothing" world, all i needed was a simple answer, not, oh look a jedi lets give him some crap for not bothering to read the stickies, if i wanted to read them id have read them.

No wonder theres only 4000 odd posts here, most of u are just here to flame when someone looks for advice, ppl ask me a question i answer it whethertheres a link to the topic posted or not, its called forum ettiquete, also called being a decent human bieng, /shrug.

Duly noted Tyler'lee. If you were a smuggler used to seeing your normal 15% or 22% speed slices knowing that they make your weapon faster, and then all of the sudden you see a -7% slice, it would definitely make you wonder.

However, you won't get any simpathy from this group if you refuse to read the FAQ. There probably have been more stupid questions asked in this forum than all of the other forum posts combined, and it bothers us when people post without reading.

It especially tees us off when you acknowledge that you knew you could learn this info in the FAQ, but you just didn't feel like reading it.

Please, be courteous to others when you expect it in return.

Thank you very kindly.

Well, in his defense, I did at least cut and paste his post further up about Last Ditch not bothering him as a Jedi (and put it in the lame arse "Nurf Last Ditch?" thread over in the Jedi Forums, lol). Frankly, I see everyone's point on the courtesy subject (about busting into Forums and ignoring the FAQ that answers the question but about us in turn seeming rude about it). It'll all be ok, we can move on with new found understanding of one another's feelings.

~tears up~

lol
