Thread: Love for the Master Smuggler

This may be redundant (if so, please flame away), but it is something that bothers me a little -- not a lot, but enough that I'm posting.

It seems to me that going through all the work to get to Master Smuggler doesn't really get you much in return. You get cheaper FPs and can slice higher, but that's it. Spices IV gives you the highest spices, Dirty Fighting IV gives you the best attack, and there's the already mentioned number improvement over the other two.

When you look at other Master professions, you see new abilities, new schematics, new attacks, etc. Ok, Squad Leader doesn't get anything new either and I'd be on their side about this too!

My suggestion would be this: make more improvements to the Master level. For example, a Slicer can improve weapons and armors, but Master Smugglers can pick speed or dam. Give MS the ability to experiment on spices, or give us additional spices. Someone on the forum already suggested moving Feign Death up to DF4 and that's the best idea I've heard in a while.

Don't get me wrong -- I love being a Master Smuggler. I'd just like it to mean a little more in terms of game play.

This is totally true, everything. I'm pretty safe in speaking for everyone when I say we all agree with that. Master needs to be something of an achievement, not just a blank box with a couple of invisible skills in it.

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Master should definitely have bonuses included to all 4 lines. It should mean you're the best at what you do, not just be a title, for title's sake.

Don't forget Politicians!

Know what they get in their Master Box? Nada! Nothing! Zilch!

(There used to be a few combined "dual specializations" for cities, but those were removed when they were deemed "buggy". The Master Politician box is completely empty. Check it for yourself. Of course, people will now say "Who cares! It costs no skill points!" but it used to, dammit. )

Oh, just to keep this on topic, I agree, Smugglers deserve more stuffs at Master.

Ummm, yes we do.

I agree when need the skills we do get documented and others added. I disagree with the idea of a Master being able to choose a slice, while not having that ability before hand. Perhaps the entire slicing line could have a skill where you can choose the slice and that skill gets more consistent as you go up the line and become Master. . . but that's another subject that's been beat to death.

FYI? You're the one with 7 posts. We CAN slice higher. The cap on Slicing IV is 30% on weapons, 40% on armor. The cap at master Smuggler is 35% on weapons, 45% on armor.

Are you sure you're a Master Smuggler?

In reality all master professions are pulling for this. Except the crafters that actually have huge advantages in the masters box.

Other examples include.

MBH/MCH/MMa/MSc

The list is endless. Players are just able to dabble for huge reward for nothing spent.

The truth is most masteries are empty titles.
