Thread: Need Help Figuring Rebel Faction Delegation....Again :(

Ok, I got a big sale to a buddy of mine tonight...but I've got till tomorrow to set this up and I'm a bit confused on how to figure up my profits and how much to buy and delegate. He said he wants 10 million credits worth of faction but I'm charging him 90 credits per point because I've known him forever and I figure that's a Hell of a discount for a good friend...besides I owe him.

Now, what throws me is this: I can buy 10M credits worth of faction...but that leaves no credits left for me. I can't figure out if I should be calculating the base price (72.72cr/FP) or the post-delegation price (85.6cr/FP) or what I'm charging (90cr/FP). I want to end up with zero faction points left in my "pool" after all of this. It's going to be roughly 110k of faction...I think. But, gah, I'm so confused.

You've seen this problem in College Algebra: I have 2498 Rebel faction points in my pool already. The dude wants to spend 10 million credits to get as many Rebel faction points as possible at 90 credit per point. After he tips me 10M, how many points should I buy and how many should I delegate to fullfill his order at 90cr per point?

That's some confounded confusing crap if you ask me

If he is paying you 90 credits per faction point, and wants 10 million worth, that is a total of 111111 faction points before delegation.
If you delegate 111111 faction points, he will receive 94401 points (assuming you are a colonel)

As you already have 2498 faction points, you need to "buy" 108613 points.

from memory, 100k gets you 1375 rebel points at a time .... so you need to spend 79 x 100k = 7.9 million.

This will leave you with 12 faction points and a profit of 2.1 million credits.

I think the maths is ok ;-)

alternatively, if he is actually paying 90 credits per faction point received .......
you need to buy 128279 points, which is 93.3 x 100k = 9.33 million.

that leaves you with a profit of roughly 670k .......

Ok...with your 2300 (You have to keep 200) FP you already have, you need to buy another 108,700 FP.

You then /del 94,300 to your client.

Your client will recieve 94300.

You will lose roughly 110991 FP...bringing your total back to 210 or so in your pool.

Price wise, you're looking at spending 7.9 mil (~79 buys of 1375 FP) on the 108,700 FP.

So, you'll end up with a total profit of around 2 mil.

hehe...what's really bad, is before there were FP calculators and Excel spreadsheets. I used to do all of this on paper and used a normal calculator.

I still find myself doing that sometimes...

if you got the faction calc from the faq sticky here in the smuggler forums, you need to have .net installed.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

If the Rebel Faction is riding Train A heading South into Memphis carrying a total of fourty thousand faction points at eighty miles per house, and the Imperial Faction is riding in Train B heading North out of Memphis carrying a total of thirty seven thousand faction points at ninety four miles per hour; then how long will it take the survivors to crawl out of the wreckage after they collide?

i always choose when to d/l stuff from ms. im more scared of what they are automatically sending me to bloat their kernel even more.

you know that it downloads on its own right?

anyway, enough ms conspiracy theory for today.

i would just suggest using the windows update and do a manual update, or whatever they are calling it now, and choose it yourself.
it would be under the 'other updates' or 'non-critial' whatever they call it.

if you really dont want to use the ms update, just go to ms site and find the support or download tab and search for .net framework.
that should get you what you need.
if you are using ie, and im sorry if you are, there should be a windows update link somewhere and it will let you get it.
but that is the same as just using the update button on the start menu, im pretty sure.

It is the same page. I should add that when you downloaded the .net framework adn rebooted you should run the update again. There some vital security updates to be done for .net...
