Just remember, these stats include alt chars which every jedi gets one

So yes, Jedi being in the middle of the list actually means they are at the top.

Now, take that list and remove every secondary character slot on every Jedi account.

And watch all of those Professions ahead of Lightsaber disappear.

Pathetic.

Keck says:

I looked at the "astromech stats" for the professions. then I realized. There's more Jedi than there is any other profession. The stats are misleading because most of the Jedi professions are lumped in the center. but they're ALL Jedi professions. Since the majority of Jedi like to be FULL jedi, that's 2.5 full Jedi professions. If you assign a number value 1-37 1 being squad leader, 37 being FS combat, the number of Jedi relative to the rest is 47.5.

There are 1.3 Jedi for every 1 Bounty Hunter, and 47.5 Jedi for every Squad leader.

The math is hypothetical, and not very well put together, but it's there. Jedi outnumber any other profession.

(PS if anyone's actually a statistician and wants to refine this, be my guest)

With a Jedi-centric expansion released and these astromech stats given as ammo for people claiming that the focus on Jedi isn't a problem, I am of the sound opinion that non-Jedi players who feel like I do are not welcome in this game.

I can think of no better way of putting it.

They can claim whatever they want.
The truth is, no other profession has recieved two major publishs/expansions in one year.

Ever.

Great, they've sold more than 1 million units, of course only a small percentage of the people that have bought it still subscribe.
Marketing at its finest.
Which is better, 1 million sold with 20%-30% still subscribing after 2 years, or 750,000 sold with 50% or better still subscribing after 2 years?

I've been gone for about 4 months, and have been back for about 1 week, since SOE now owns MxO, I got a Station Access account.
That's gone.
I'm deleting my other 3 alts and keeping my Smuggler on Ahazi and dropping the Station Access to MxO only.
I know its probably a waste of time, but I loved this game so much when I started a year ago, and I guess I still have the tiniest hope that they will actually fix the broken stuff one day.

If it's still around in 6-8 months, I may resubscribe, depending on what's changed, but I doubt that's going to happen.
Nobody gets my stuff, it all gets destroyed when I delete my characters.
Not that most of it is any good anyway.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

I refuse to believe that there are that many Smugglers. I refuse.

In all of my playing time of 2+ years, I have not seen so little a number of Smugglers.

Now this isn't entirely true.

Droid engineers got 2 full publishes. Jedi got ONE. Publish 10 gave absolutely nothing to jedi, it was the village quest revamp which was a publish for people who wanted to become jedi, not for those who already were one.

This may sound like splitting hairs, but its one of my little pet peves.

The thing is 90% of NON-jedi think of (force sensative) as being jedi content. you may be right and its does sound like splitting hairs, but its true.

I think the reason we do that is because we constantly get that 'I spent all that time grinding' comment. When we point out it can be done in just a few days we immediately get a comment about the village taking 6mos. Trust me.. seperating the FS grind from the jedi grind in an arguement is something non-jedi welcome. Because frankly the actual padawan-to-template grind can be done in almost no time AFK.

Looks like we're not doing to bad popularity wise.

Edit: And here's a list of actual masters of a profession

I wonder what we at before the CU though. Probably a lot lower down the totem pole.

the top 10 played professions are either jedi related or BH pickup profession related. Not that I am surprised but what ever happened to them being 'rare'.

did you also notice that they specifically searched for 'Light saber Mastery' ?

nothing else is master specific in its tile... meaning that the 4000 MC add-on to BH explains its ranking. Were they afraid to list any and all light saber in the ranks?

There are slightly more smugglers than jedi with skill in the lightsaber discipline. Not all jedi have lightsabers these days (but I would say more than 95% do), but its a fairly decent gauge if you think about it.

I guess I'm kind of surprised that smuggler is so high on the population list, then again that list is nearly meaningless without the actual percentages or numbers listed.
