Just wondering who out there plans on dropping the Spice, Slicing and Underworld (hopefully for Smug xp instead of pistol)trees?
For the 1st time since I Mastered Smuggler (Aug '03) I plan of dropping those trees, and remaster Smuggler after our revamp.
Thoughts ?

I'll deffinitely be dropping them on Test Center... I guess it depends on how fun it is to work your way up them. After beta testing for JtL I didn't touch pilot for a while as I couldn't be bothered going up the trees again right after; but yeh, I'll be working my way up one way or another

Yeah, depends on how fun it is.
If you can get as much fun sticking with Master and playing about with the missions etc at that level, then I'm staying Master and taking the new content at that level as my reward for patience.
Plus if everyone else is levelling again, there'll be fewer Masters about, so I can charge more

Hmmmm
nice idea...
I'm just thinking about trying it anyways...
But being Grandfathered in can't be to bad either...

I probably won't drop slicing for two reasons: 1) A master slicer can slice anything a novice would be able to, but better, so not really any new experiences to be had,2) my character's main trait is slicing. She is a smuggler, yes, and I plan on trying to get her to master eventually (only been putting it off for a year or two....hey, maybe I can get a job as a dev!...sorry, low blow there). Her main "defining trait" in my mind and in her bio is the ability to bend and modify pretty much anything she can get her hands on. She used to be a master artisan, and still has some in the engineering tree, simply to give her that hands on background I wanted. I don't actually make anything from the trees, just feel like less of a l33t dewd when saying she's an engineer than if I had absolutely no engineering experience with her.
As for the other things? Yeah, I'll be dropping back to novice level, assuming the improvements are all they are cracked up to be. It's for the same reason I do all the theme parks I can, because a story line, a purpose, a reason to actually be doing a mission gives me so much more enjoyment in the game, especially when compared with the "go here, kill this" missions that noone usually even bothers to read the descriptions of. Grab an imperial mission, you don't know if you're destroying a droid factory or a propoganda station half the time if you don't pay attention, and when you get there, it looks exactly the same.

I'm waiting for what we see on test center probably. I would love to go through the ropes if they're worth it. If it's just grinding missions like investigation... well then I'll probably keep my master tag.

Well I just decided to become FS, and was recently visited by the oldman. Once I do the 6 trees I will have to decide if I'm going to take my character to Jedi. If that happens, it is a sign that I really am bored, but I will be taking my second character to Smuggler. My current Character will remain a Master Smuggler for as long as possible.

I think I'll mostlikely stick with master. It took me quite awhile to hit master, and I don't feel like doing it again.
On another note, I heard that come the CU we'll be able to switch profession tree boxes, depending on how many skill boxes we've used (like someone that was a Master Doctor/Master DE could drop Master DE and get Master Shipwright, for example). Is this true?
I'm a Master Smuggler/Master Commando at the moment. If it's true, I wanna drop Commando and take up Pistoleer/TKA for a change of pace.

Sticking with Master. If I wanted to drop them I'd have done it LONG ago and done something else instead of not-smuggling asa Smuggler.

Nope!
Other than I have to finish becoming a SA Ace pilot and getting my cargo ship.
I will have 2 mini-games to learn to play-
Smuggling quests- gotta get the new spices to sell
and
Slicing- Now I have to learn to tune a gun/armor to the users specifications.
