I only charge 4k a piece. No questions asked and there are no "bad" slices.

I generally charge 3k per if I like the person (initial impression and if they haggle) and 4k per if the person is just average. I charge 5k if someone makes me miss a shuttle, and it can go up drastically if you annoy me

On average though, I stick to 4k per

On Bria, I charge3k per weapon,4k per armor piece, 30K for a full suit of armor. I've only had ONE person decline my services after I told them my price. I had one guy say "Wow, you don't charge 100cr / % ?" ... I said "Nope" and he came to me anyway cuz I was the only Master Smuggler available I guess.

My best 1/2 hour of slicing got me almost 180K. By the time the hour was up I was over 200K. Sweet!

I usually do about 50K-60K per hour at the bank in Coronet at prime gaming hours (7pm-12am)

I only pay 1K for a crate of 25 knives, 7k for clamps, 2500 for AUK / WUK crates.

I'mnot really sure what I'm gonna charge until I get to run the system a few times. It might have to be on a sliding scale, because we'll have to be more accountable for the low end slices. The nice thing is if you do a good job, you are even more likely to build a reputation and get repeat customers. And then you can easily rasie prices

Haha our revamp is only in concept and you've posted this already

Not that I haven't thought a little on it, my price will be still high

I really have to see what the system is like. If it's more hassel then price will go up. If tool qualitity matters, price will go up.

I was thinking of going back to the xxxxcr/point system again unless I can say; "I will garantee you'll get you above an XXpoint slice for this set price."

If a customer wants a weapon "fixed" (I do hope they change the terminalogy as this will just cause confusion and grief to us) without an added slice on top it will be more expenisve than to get it resliced. Why? I want him to have the weapon sliced as he will now have to come back to a smuggler once it goes out of tune or breaks once more

I don't know, it's likely going to be variable. I set my price two ways: by seeing what other Smugglers are shouting in starports, and with an on-the-fly quote. If they're cordial, flexible, and have a quantity, I will play with the price a bit.

Since there is the potential for more skill needed to slice, I can see that price going up. We will have to see how often a weapon needs to get repaired. Since we will be able to 'call' slices, that should make them a lot more valuable, too.

If a Doc can get 12k for a 3 hour buff, I find we're really undercutting our value as it is right now. I hope a bunch of people don't switch over with the revamp and drop the bottom out of slice prices (I still cringe when I see people slicing for 2k in starports). I mean, the more Smugglers, the better, but remember we're freelance scoundrels that play fast and loose with morals to make money.

A lot of things to determine:

1.) Tool quality

2.) Resources needed for "Smuggler Kits"

3.) How complex and difficult the Slicing minigame is

4.) How skill based it is

5.) If they start you out with 80pts and you need to find CA/AAs for the other 20pts (God I hope not)

But I hope it stays pretty expensive. I mean, from the looks of it, you're going to have very customizable weapons...which is 100% better than random, right? So, shouldn't this warrant at least the price of the weapon or maybe a lot more?

I dunno. I will hopefully spend most of my time Smuggling and less time Slicing

There's a lotta factors in that lil' question.

Overall I would say the price of a slice is going to go up.

Slices are more personal now. Take a bit more time and skill. They will also be harder to come by because they take longer to perform (which also means they won't be on vendors for the most part).

On the other hand, "fixes" are going to need to occur a lot more often. Who knows how often? So Idon't know how to read that one.

Also, I would imagine that a Smuggler will be getting a real pretty penny for his spice after the smuggling changes.

I don't know what I will do as far as I'm concerned. I HAVE sliced items for those that have stopped me or searched me out but for the most part I slice for myself. That's just how I see the role played. Not that I'm against slicing as a service. I just play Tevin as a guy on the move. Upgrading his equipment anyway he can and making a buck when the oportunity presents itself.

So... to summerize...I'm pretty sure the price is going to go up but idunno.

Something else to add, I think I'm going to be charging a LOT more to slice Bounty Hunter weapons. If I'm going to be gunned down by a sliced Scatter Pistol or LLC, then by damn they're going to pay me to do it!

I once thought that way too. But, if by slicing BH gear, I make a contact that A.) Wont hunt me if he continues to want to get his gear sliced. B.) Could give me a "Heads-up" when I am on the boards. I probably wont slice for any BH who hunts me, but others yes I will. They can help weed out the competition you know.
