Thread: I'm thinking now

The only reason I wanted to stay around longer is to fly my YT1300 and my firespray that have been sitting in my house for 4 months. That's no longer sounding interesting.

I have a few questions:

If you cancel your account, will your character still be available if you renew it?

Also, CoH: Is there an uber l33t class that bugs the heck out of everyone?

That realy depends. SOE garantees that the character will be saved for 90 days (or so)after the account is closed. But they also say that they will keep the characters saved aslong they can. my 2nd account was closed for bout 10 month, and all chars and their stuff wer still on there.

I got so bored with CoH last year. I don't know if there are any 'uber 133t' classes, but I don't think there are, not like jedi anyway. I just got tired of the identical missions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....

"Kill 10 circle of thorns jerkoffs" Oh, by the way, they only spawn at night. In one section of town. In alleys. Or on rooftops. Oh, looks like there aren't any there tonight for you, why don't you run around and look in every alley. Oh, the sun's up, guess you're screwed, wait till the next night. Rinse and repeat. That was the last straw for me. /shrug

That doesn't sound very interesting.

Sadly, from what I've heard, CoH was one of the better ones out there.

Also, CoH: Is there an uber l33t class that bugs the heck out of everyone? NO. Thank god. Although you will find it a rarity to see controllers or defenders. For some reason noone likes to be Crowd Controllers/Healers. However it's right up my alley.

and how much per month?

yea, accounts are guaranteed for 3 months I think, but since they've never actually purged any accounts, characters are currently infinitely storable. They're still hoping to bring folks back from their peak population days methinks.

I had heard CoH was planning on adding Alpha Classes, but to be fair, so do most games. I believe WoW and every other newer MMO is planning on them. But you never roll out the Alphas at launch. And you NEVER have just one Alpha /cough jedi /cough. It's more like, Wow's level cap is 60. They'll up the cap to 80 and rogues will become Assassins, Warriors become Battlelords or something. Much the same way EQ did it.

CoH is about one thing, combat.

period. it's a leveling grind that results in straight forward combat with the same bad guys over and over.

that being said, since it is such a simplistic game, it's not very buggy and it does do that one thing extraordinarily well. it's fun, but if you need depth to enjoy a game, then CoH isnt the place to look. maybe it'll get better with CoV comming out.

Well, I've played it so far for about a day, got a character to lvl 7, and I'm having fun.

I can't quite fly yet, but I can hover!

I think characteradvancement is going to be the most fun part of the game though. Choosing your powers as you advance, as well as deciding what powers to enhance is pretty interesting.
