Thread: So... um... now what?

I know its a bit late in the evening and early in the details to go here, but it does need to be addressed, and soon.

Since the revamp is now officially happening post JTL then, um, what the hell are we supposed to be talking about in here for then next 3 or 4 months? Can the chuckle hold out that long? Do we go on discussing mag seals and undocumented slice ranges ad nauseum? Do we just close up shop and wish everyone a fun and safe summer?

And what of this nifty revamp doc that has now proven itself to be nothign more then busy work and a method of distraction? Is it now totally worthless due to the new circumstances of the new role of our profession? Will the player contributions on this one even be acknowledged by the staff?

And Caylin, do you have plans to last that long as a correspondent? I think TH's original though was to setup a rotation but that long went out the window, but do you have it in you to deal with TH over the same old crap and nothing new for that long of a time?

Or am I just jumping to conclusions and we'll be working with the devs all summer long on the RealSmugglerRevamp[TM] v3.0 and we'll have loads of dev interaction and new things to discu... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA... 'scuse me while I fall out of my chair laughing.

In the end I believe they have to do something with us, sooner or later. Perhaps delaying it until after JtL is a good excuse to start exploring ways we can be of use in space. We'll have the beta and some time after its release to really add SE ideas to our revamp. I cannot give up, not after a year of telling them they screwed up with this profession.

You know....we've been refining our ideas and coming up with new ones, but at this point I think it's all a smokescreen. Get us to think they're really into doing something for us and stiffing us later.

Remember, they didn't want to look at smugglers until JTL and they're going to do just that. They've been stringing us along for a long time. Jedi got more attention than we did and we haven't had a purpose since beta. Almost one year and we still don't know what we do other than slice and make spice(?). Could it have been too much to ask that the spicing tree allow us to locate spice like the survey tree allows people to sample resources? At least let us mine spice instead of create it even though the fact that they're narcotics in this game is false in Star Wars (at least from what I've read..I could be wrong).

In the end, the developers got what they wanted. They wanted to wait until JTL when green-what's-his-name was supposed to help us out MONTHS ago.

P.S. I'm all for closing the forum for the summer and leaving nothing but the FAQ behind, but I doubt TPTB would be up for that.

Oh, i have faith TH will appear in this forum sometime in the next few days. He may be greeted with the exact opposite response he was met with last time the smuggler revamp was delayed of course. Cuz lord knows there's going to be quite a lot of negativity, hostility, violent-proposals, and the unfortunate loss of probably a few more of the rank.

Unfortunately, its time for me to fall asleep, to rest and prepare for a new day filled with pesimism and angst. I swear, this game is like being back in high school sometimes. God i hope we don't lose any more people though, cuz we're not going to have anyone left to fight the good fight....

I hate to say this, but why frustrate someone, why burn someone out, and why put someone in a position of abuse as a new correspondent. I don't think we need one. Hell, the devs dont work with the ones we have, and Caylin was more than willing to work with both sides to make things so much better. If they won't work with him, what chance does the next guy have?

Leave the position unfilled. There is no need for someone to simply waste their time.

We can't bring the water to the people, but we can sure bring the people to the water...

Obviously it's fairly simple for anyone with a red name to simply ignore the smuggler forum. So instead of posting in here anymore for the rest of the day, i say we all take our discussions over to the In Live forum. Every post for the rest of the day under the "19 Answers" thread...every complain, curse, gripe, etc etc. That way they'll have to see it. Not only will the devs HAVE to see us and respond to us there, every other forum user will eventually hear about what's going on with the smugglers.

I don't know, has anyone checked out the profession forums today? Have they seen that "state of the profession" post, or were the Devs successful in leaving everyone else in the dark too?

Maybe someone should take a cut and paste of Electricnomads Post full O Dev LIES and paste it in the 19 answers post for the world to see. And add this latest thing to the group of it.

Well, I've read Shrendyc's opinion about leaving the correspondent position open if Caylin departs - and I agree. If all of Caylin's hard work has been wasted, whybother?

But why not go one better? Nominate a joke Correspondent, even an in-gameNPC! I say: Theed Ticket Droid for Smuggler Correspondent. It can transport anyone across the galaxy in a flash. Heck, it can smuggle better than any of us can. Whaddaya say?

I'm probably going with 'closing up shop'

I'll get things in order before I do, so however they do it... whenever they do it, they will have the information they need to give you all a great revamp.

Can't help but notice the "you" not "us". Does this mean you are taking off, Caylin?

I say instead of sleeping off the summer we strike. We organize right here and now. Its time SOE gets their head out of the clouds dreaming and FIX this stuff. At the rate we're losing people on this game, the server Tarq could be shut down. We could ROCK this server and this game with a strike, just like in real life.
