When to start sclicing for profit? I've made Slicing IV, but not Master Smuggler. Can I start now, or should I wait till MS? Also can any of the Ahazi smugglers tell me the current price range is?
Thanks

Start whenever you think it's the best time. Don't let others dictate how you "play" the game.

Exactly...do it when YOU'RE ready. I was slicing at 2 and 3 so you should be good.

Go for it! You're not gonna mess anything up, not with using those clamps of yours, so anything you do makes that piece of equipment better than it was before.

I had a guy give me a free buff and 5K to slice a container @ novice. I would have gladly done it for free but he already started the buff
.
Start whenever you want to. There is always a market for everthing!

Personally I wouldn't bother until Slicing IV, but that's just me. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try, or be ready to DO so if it arises before then while you're sitting in a cantina grinding, and hoping for some containers to fall in your lap, mind you. The thing is, there will usually be a slicer or Master around and you just can't compete with their numbers, plus people have a notion about anything but the best chances of the best slice being a waste of money. They're weird like that. But give it a shot, by all means! Just be honest with your customers what your limitations are.

I just hit slicing IV, and while I don't spam or advertise that I'll slice, even i've had people send /tells asking for services. Depends if you hit the right area at the right time when no Masters are around. I also wouldn't try to charge as much as most Masters are charging, since their added % justifies price increase.
If you're below slicing IV, slice for the newbs. Find the guy with bone armor and offer to do it for free. A) it's XP for you on your grind up the tree. B) More importantly, if you let it known your slicing cheaply for newer players, you're likely to draw that kind of crowd. From what i've seen, especially those wearing bone armor are intimidated by slicers or masters. You can teach them a little about the process (thus turning them into better customers down the road) pick up a little pocket change (perhaps enough to pay for the grind) and feel like you're helping someone a little bit.

If there are alot of Master Smugglers around, I personally would just focus on grinding out the rest of Smuggler to get Master. But that's just me.

I'm working on my last box and since I started it I've put the NS tag up. I get the occassional request to slice a container, I tell them I charge 1K for a container. Last night I had my first request to slice a weapon, I explained to him he would be better off finding a Master, but I would do it for him for 3K. He decided to let me do it and I only got a 17% increase in damage, I felt a little bad, but he was cool about it.

"Damn it feels good to be a gangsta (smuggler)"
- I still don't know the group that sings this.
Tell it like it is man.
Play the character how you want man, slice when you have the skill.
I'm getting sick and tired of mutha$#%$as telling me what to do with my character (and my money). Sure there are immediate consequences for your actions and long term. A smuggler is all about risk and hopefully with Publish 11 the risk...and therefore the fun will increase.
