Actually, it depends on supply and demand. Doctors do it all the time. They find a time when there are no doctors around, then charge megabucks for buffs. Just go some place popular, when no other Slicers are around, then charge whatever you want. I personally never used this method when I had Slicing IV however. Ialways kept it fair because I hate the people who exploit overpricing just because they can. Its just mean. But, hey, they can do whatever they want.
I usually charged 100 creds per % and anything under 15% is a free slice for that item. A little pricey for theper % maybe, but a free slice is a free slice. And besides, who cares if they get a slice less than 15%? If they had something uber awesome that they wanted a nice slice on, then they should have just waited for a Master Slicer anyways. Its not like you CAN guarantee any kind of slice they want in the first place. With this deal, they actually get the better end of the stick.

That works for Docs when you find them on non-starter planets. If I find a Doc on Dathomir willing to buff me, I will gladly pay more money. Even if he didn't charge me more I would probably throw him some extra credits anyway. But if there's a Doc in Coronet during an off time and he happens to be the only one around, I'm not paying extra. If he tries to charge extra, I'll just find somebody else.
It's not just about when, it's also about where.

I charge 5k a slice. At the prices I'm buying my clampsand upgrade kits (5k a crate), I can more than make up for cost and occasionally comp the customer on a less-than-great slice...depending on their attitude. Now, I've only been a Master Smuggler for less than a week, but I've already had a ton of repeat customers who have been very happy with my service and sometimes tip me extra. I look at it is an "I scratch your back...." kind of deal.
Just tonight I sliced a suit of comp, charged the guy 30k because some of the slices were terrible. He came back 15 minutes later with 3 vibro axes, I sliced them, he paid me 50k. We were both happy and that's how I try to make my deals go down: on a good note.

My usual fee is 10k per weapon, 25 for 3, 50 for 10 (or a full set of armor) if that's in the street.
With my WS i have an arrangement, i always keep a weapon among those i sliced, free to use it myself if i'm certified or give (or sell) it to someone i know.
I used to practice the 100 cr per % for a long time but i realised that i was somewhat stupid to be paid on the result when i couldn't even be hold reponsible for it. Charging on the increase would be perfectly legit if we had any options to make the slice become better or more accurate to our wish.

Before you become a Master Smuggler, you should not charge more then 100credits per % sliced. hence if you manage a 25% slice then ask for 2500credits.
When you become a Master you can charge more. I myself do not charge more then 5k a slice. the more Item´s there are to slice the cheaper it should get (rebate).
Also Run around with (before master) "Slicer" as tag and when master the professionas "Master Smuggler". That will get you a lot of "running by" jobs...

I charge 10k per slice, my justification: smuggler is borked, (not borked per se, that implies it was working in theFIRST place, thus giving the devs far too much credit). Some people hate it, most respect it. I dont get bugged often. But charge what you want, its a free market.

A smuggler is a businessman, you charge as much as you can get away with, also keeping in mind goodwill and possible repeat custom.
Off the hoof slices like tells etc. I charge 10K per slice, for my contract work it's 2k (or a weapon from the Krayt if its my type of weapon).
This is at master smuggler level though.

Yes it does you can get 5% higher at Master on slices. Exampe: Non Master highest on weapon = 30% Master highest on weapon = 35%
If you're slicing for the public a lot of times people don't want anything but Master.

Did anyone ever tried to count how many times this had been asked?

Could you limit that to this Forum or Ingame please? Either way I lost track of it after the first few thousand "/tell" with that slicing-question in it.
