Hello there fellow Smugglers,
I am an AS on Farstar and have been a Master Smuggler for a very long time. I supply sliced composite to my customers.
I slice hundreds and hundreds of items of armour and have long understood the 50/50 chance of getting either encumbrance or effectiveness BUT...
For about just over a month now I dont think this is the case. I am experiencing a massive shift towards encumbrance slices. I am talking The cynical side of me actually thinks the Devs are trying to reduce the number of high base suits in the game before combat revamp but that is just me.
Q: Has anyone else noticed this ?
Cheers

I've not noticed a recent shift to be honest, but my general observations are that it doesn't appear to be a 1:1 ratio for Enc:Eff. I've always thought it to be slightly leaning towards Enc.
But that's just my opinion

This has been the same for me on NAritus. In fact I sluced two crates of PSGs only to have ALL of htem slice encumbrance. It broke my heart.

They wouldn't have changed anything at this point unless they were mad.
We will see what happens with the combat upgrade as that will also have an affect in the outcome of our slicing.

A few weeks ago I sliced about 90 pieces of armor for a guildmate. I got so many encumbs, 30% or higher, that I thought I was bugged. About 60 pieces were encumberance and out of them, about 40 were 30% or higher.

Sliced 2 sets of armor for a guildie the other night. 1 set mostly encumbrance, the other set mostly effective. I'd say it's still 50/50.

Ive been slowly growing to love encumberance slices. For someone who isnt always buffed its actually useful sometimes.
I used to never slice ubese cause I figured it was a waste but it actually helps to get encum sliced on ubese. Just a little but it does help.

Slicing is still random, but yes the devs can influence it if they want.
I myself have gotten way more speed sliced then damage on weapons lately.
somewhere along the lines of 70% speed/30% damage, it' might be that the devs have changed at randomizer values, but not by alot.

I went through about 3 days ago and sliced up 50 full suits of armor for a friend, I'd say 90% of the slices were encumbrance, the other 10 % were effectiveness. Just my experience though, but I did think it was odd. Felt bad for him actually because he bought all those to get effective slicese lol.. poor guy but oh well.. Another thing I notice on a side note that about 70-80% of my encumbrance slices were above 33% a few were lower like 29%-31%, but of my effective slices I didn't get one above 32%.. that's 50 suits so 50 x 9= 450 peices of armor I sliced.. My observation though and I didn't take the time to get exact numbers but a rough guess; I actually celebrated when I got effective slices, that's how uncommon they were that day..

Im gonna have to agree there. For the last two weeks approx 80% of the weaponsI have sliced have been speed. Another thing I have noticed is whenIdid get damage slices they were always below 22%. I even had 3 consecutive 17% damage slices on8 PH's, the rest were speed. Needless to say I was very frustrated (as were my customers). If they were looking for speed slices though they were generally between 25-32% with a few above and below that.
Armor on the other hand has been pretty much all over the place between types and percentages.
No I don't have screen shots or exact numbers on weapons, armor etc. But I am starting a file to track all of this as I go now to see how my slicing goes.
Might be just a bad luck streak, if it is I hope it ends soon.
