Thread: Slicer 4 slicing to 100% customization? Thought this wasn't supposed to be possible.

Ok, I have a friend who is a weaponsmith with Slicing 4 and nothing else of smuggler. The other day she lucked out and looted an Illegal Core Booster and set about slicing a new gun. She kept slicing Damage to 8%, Speed to 2% and Crit to 3% and ended up with 100% customization.
I thought only masters were able to get 100% customization?
Is this a bug or is this the way things are going to be from now on, that a slicer 4 can slice as well, if not better if they can loot the better stuff, as a master?

I hope so. I feared this would happen and made several such comments, but was told by many I was being unreasonable in my fears...I hope this isn't the way things are supposed to be, it would make Master Smuggler one of the most worthless boxes out there.

I assumed that when they said only masters could slice to 100% that they meant only masters could do the following slices:
Speed Slices: Level 4 |12% Increase |100% customization
Critical Shot Chance: Level 3 |10% Increase |100% customization
Hardening: Level 3 | 3% Absorbtion |100% customization
I never took it to mean that they couldn't do many little slices adding up to 100%.

Before I say anything, I am not speaking for the Devs here.
I can just imagine what the devs will say:
Working as intended! We don't want to discriminate against people who don't want to master smuggler or cannot master smuggler because of their lack of skill points. The Devs see no reason as to why a master smuggler should have any advantage over a on-and-off smuggler. After all... it wouldn't be fair to other professions...

As I recall, they said only a master smuggler will be able to reach the 100% customization level, ensuring, or so they said, being a master meant something...but it seems, it doesn't. Furthermore, if she can slice multiple slices to reach 100% customization, it likely won't prevent her from slicing on tree (e.g. Speed) to 100%. I hope to do a test later to see if she can.

smuggler isnt all about slicing guys...they are also combat...

Uh, ok I knew that, since I've been one for a couple years now, but this thread is about slicing, so what's your point? With all due respect, we are talking about the new slicing system, and I really don't see the point of your post.

I think me may have been using sarcasm (and if not, I thought he was). Kinds like we aint slices, just as we aint really combat. Of course, that's just my take.
