dam slice kinda blows and your isnt even complete because the last tool for it is soooooooooo rare


and a tier 4 speed slice would do more for u n e way


unfortunately is to late for that id slap the crap outa the moron that sliced and ruined ur carbine

I'd bet the smuggler in question was either told exactly what slices the OP wanted or "I dunno, do what you can but I have no loot /shrug"

At any rate, why ask about the "best slice" after the gun's already sliced? As for 800 DPS on an Elite Carbine? That's not just from a slice - that's some kind of Krayted, fully-sliced, powered-up gun for sure.

Yea chances are they would be slappin themselves, no smuggler I know or work with would just doa random slice on anyone's weapon, they either do what's asked of them, sliced it acording to loot handed to them or what the customer could afford vs. wanted, either way it's a 99% chance it was the weapon owner's fault for chosing wrong slice or givin the weapon to a newbie smuggler.

I don't see what was wrong with the smugglers actions. He did not cause the wep to loose anything. and he put ona 4% dmg slice which I thnk puts you at either 40% or 60% customization. so, he could still apply the lvl 3 slice if given the loot part, and still has room for lvl 1 speed mabe..... At least that's how I see it.



Now as I understand this(correct me if im wrong) but you don't have to do all the slicing at once. Can you not just do lvl 2 dmg slice, then go back to it a slice more, as long as customization hasn't reached 100%?

If you check the FAQ, you will see that slices are much smaller than they used to be. A level 1 damage slice will boost the damage 2% (360*1.02=367) and put the customization to 20%. A level 2 damage slice will boost the damage by 4% (of the base value, so 360*1.04=374), and put the customization at 40%. If you can find and illegal core booster, or you find a smuggler willing to sell you one and stick it into your weapon, that will boost the base damage by 8% (360*1.08=388), and set the customization to 60%.


At this point, you could still get a 2% speed slice and a 3% critical strike chance slice to bring the customization up to 100%. Check the FAQ and you'll be able to figure out the possible combinations.

ok, i got a proton carbine, that when i hold it has 521 mod DPS smething like 360 base DPS i forget, and i 2 slices on it the other day, total of 4% dmg increase :-/ well that aint cool. i saw my friend running arund bestine with a Elite Carbine and ran up to me all happy and excited, to show me her 800 DPS carbine......y do i not feel loved. how does one get good slices like that?

Go back in time...nowadays even the best weapon slice only adds 12%spd, 10%crit, or 8%dmg.

Don't feel unloved. Your friend cannot get any better slices than you or anyone else. Speed slices seem to enhance the DPS more...but damage is the most demanded slice as far as I am concerned. Does your friend have a krayt enhhanced Elite carbine with a 33+% dmg power up on it? Hmmm....very possible. Is your friend a skill tape enhanced mummy that also has a boostedmodified DPS? Throw a power-up on your carbine and see where your DPS goes from there.

a damage slice is virtualy worthless if the weapon is made right dam can NOT go over cap so if u weapon is say 10 pnts from cap u get a teir 1 dam slice woot its now at cap and the best u could ever get now is a teir 3 speed slice to top it of ud get MUCH better results from a teir 4 speed slice out right as you would have MUCH better damage over time as apposed to a paltry added 1-10 maxdamage


dont belive me TALK to the weapon smiths there makeing all weapons at or close to damage cap so most weapons can even get a full damage slice

8-12% on say the average 800 Dmg weapon is not bad at all. thats 80 points more damage or so. Geez, even 2-4%4, thats like 30 points extraDmg, and so many fights come down to the last health point, this is when this stuff matters...


We're just dealing with a much smaller scale now, but itdoes exist, the variants of whats good and whats bad are just not so extreme now,.. thevariants of a good weapon and a crappy weapon is much more subtle but it will have an effect when your dealing with half seconds and such...

i sell tier 4 speed slices for just as much as tier 3 damage, which blows by the way, i ruined a thing or two with this pos slice and decided i would sell every core booster i got because i have no use for them. my 12% adv. laser rifle rocks the house. just wait till i get a krayted one and its on like sean.
