Thread: Anything Positive About Smuggler?
You just have to ask yourself who is your character? What kind of a person do you want to play?
To be honest you have to decide on what kind of character you'd like to be rather than the perks of a given profession. Smuggler isn't an "easy way to make millions of credits" and you don't automatically get that Wookie sidekick and YT-1300 when you get Master. I honestly love being a Smuggler, despite the drawbacks and foggy promises. I like doing a little roleplay now and then, and selling faction. I'd recommend going pilot as well and get the expansion if you don't already have it.
Just my humble opinion.

"Han Solo who...? Han Solo what?"
I personally love Smuggler.
My advice is to find what you enjoy and play that. In my opinion, "winning" the game = having fun when you log in. If you are the best FOTM PvP template and you don't enjoy playing it, no matter how many people you kill, you lose.

I'll tell you something positive... I found a Krayt HC Scatter today that had a higher DPS, raw damage, and speed than any weapon I'd seen before... and I slapped a 12% speed slice on it. 1.08 speed, 610 DPS - any other BH would have to pay a ton for that kind of iron.
I also fully hardened my composite armor - that'd be a pretty expensive slice to buy. I can also buy the FP I need for furniture and other uses.
I can carry around more contraband than a Colombian freighter and all I ever hear is "move along"...
Combat wise? I went out with a TKM/Doc the other day and the two of us killed an Ancient Krayt and several other dragons. I put more states on it than a map of the USA...
In short, even if I never did any business with customers I'd think it's worth it to be a Smuggler. Sure, the profession needs the sort of treatment that Chef and other profs got a while back so that all our trees are worthwhile, but hey, it's cool to be a Smuggler. ![]()

I bet they screw it up and Twi'leks themself can't understand it anymore then. But I bet they are still fair and only screw our Twi'lek Smugglers...
