SWG Stratics is pleased to announce this month's House of Commons chat with the Dev Team of Star Wars Galaxies! The Dev Team will be waiting on Stratics IRC, Thursday, August 12th, to answer your questions! The time is 5pm Pacific Daylight Time (8pm EDT/1am GMT).
-snip-
But wait! There's more! We had a lot more questions than could be answered during our last Dev Chat, and even received some questions after the chat. We sent them off to the Developers; Thunderheart was kind enough to get us some answers!! Here's a clip:
There is indeed a mechanism to remove players that are not at the keyboards for a certain amount of time the issue is the use of recursive macros. A recursive macro is a macro that executes the set of player commands and then starts over again in a never ending loop. Some players have used this to play “AFK” or “Away From Keyboard”. This dramatically affects players who are present at all times and want to enjoy their gameplay. The change is being made primarily to improve the game world and the presence of players at all time. It is a huge request from many many players. The dev team agrees with them, so we are removing recursive macros and making some adjustments to some of the professions so that the removal isn’t too difficult of a transition for them.
yeah.. riiight. if someone could possibly sit in on this again, and maybe log it for those of us who won't be able to get in on? i need another good laugh/cry.

*grabs M-16*
*puts on uber hot para-military gear (modified to show some leg!)*
*grabs face paint for camo ops*
*jumps in Humvee and heads for Joras's place*
I'm with you...let's roll out and show those devs we mean business! Wear your Fan Fest Shirt.
P.S. If there is another Fan Fest before we get a revamp, Joras, we'll have to collaborate on shirts.

These are always fun. Never anything really useful comes out of them but sometimes they say something new.

I'll probably be there for this one. Had a question answered last time, so who knows, maybe I'll get lucky again this time around
. Sorry to see Caylin won't be there this time, was great to see him enter the #starwars chat room.. almost like seeing someone face to face for the first time.. er, in an online chat sense anyways
.
The best part is seeing the Devs are alive and real... albeit self proclaimed alcaholics (Hayden anyways
) and more than likely so high on caffine they can't tell their shoes from their ears
