m smuggler/MBH/ 0030 commando, not the strongest solo template but you become a god in a group setting

I have MSmugg/MBH, MSmugg/MComm and MSmugg/TKM. All three have novice medic I mix in other stuff in different ways. The first two are awesome for groups. The TKM probably would be too. But, I don't play him as much even though I really enjoy the TKM parts. TKM can be very surprising to other melee folks when they think you're a more traditional smuggler with some pistols. The smuggler specials combined with the commando weapons is just plain fun. So far, I mostly play the MSmugg/MBH. He's fun. Combining the state changes of a MBH with the def lowering of a Smuggler is pretty fun. Also, the MBH has no state recovery for things like Blindness and Daze. Smuggler does. So, the weakness of MBH's concentration is partially covered by the more defensive nature of a smuggler. Also, duelist stance is a good thing to have in the bigger fights for it's defenses.

What sort of weapons/specials do you use in PvP? Moving from a much different template (BH/CM) so any help greatly appreciated.

I must admit I'm greatly tempted to swap out MP and do something else with MS. I've always been MP/MS with dribs and drabs of other things, but I think it might be time for a change.

What does MBH, for example, give me over MP (besides my own tools and phat loot)? i guess I should just go look it up

Tbh though, I still enjoy the crowd control elements of MS. I can shut down entire groups of nasties if I have a co-operative group. It's nifty to be useful.

Offhand - some good weapons (HLC and ScatterPistol are great, better stats than the pistoleer or smuggler weapons on average). If you PvP shop around for a pre-fix scatter that has kinetic damage.

3 really useful specials - a KD, a good damage shot without the defense penalty of Reckless, and a bleed shot. However without pistoleer you will lose some accuracy and hence intrinsic damage, as well as a non-breaking root. But you will be better with more weapons - switching from a rifle to a pistol is not that big of a jump in accuracy anymore.

Was trying MSmuggler/MCM/Pistols 0004, but it doesn't seem to meld well as the specials overlap (concussion shot/paralyze) and the CM Dots expire on FD. Now switching to MSmuggler/MCommando/CM 4000.

currently i'm MS/MP/4413 Commando

i like the defense mods tha come from the grenades line, but frankly feel like the other lines are just useless. i don'tuse commando weapons for damage but for the AoE effect i can probably already get from just using a Rocket Launcher.

i've been very tempted lately to go for 4000 CM so i can heal myself and others.

i'm just wondering if i'll miss the defense and AoE effect (i like AoE Concussion shot an awful lot) over the ability to heal myself more then i do with just Stim D's.

I was a Smuggler/Pistoleer with 4xxx Merchant (to sell spices) I got bored of pistol this weekend and dropped it so now I'm a lovely lvl 55

Thinking of taking up a crafter profession, pistol seemed to double up specials with Smuggler. I cant seem to drop Smuggler but this not being able to fight things because I'm' 55 now really sucks.

I'm starting to wonder what path to go back down, if not Pistol or to keep going through Weaponsmith since I hear its nice for the money if you can find the supply.
