Thread: Slicing is going above the caps.
That is awesome.
Krayt tissue makes stuff go beyond the caps... why not this?
Now where's that Jabberwock...

That's what I'm hearing is the case on TC with limited testing. I can't be sure it's intentional yet, but given how important this is, I thought it'd be good to spread the word.
We were going to keep this quiet in case it was a bug and the devs fix it, so as not to excite too many of our fellow smugglers!
(I'm hoping it is intentional, but given it wasn't listed in patch notes we can't be sure)
We would have announced when it went live if it hadn't been fixed (or if clearance was given to confirm it was intentional).
That might bealittle bit too late but maybe not because the Dev's don't read the forums anyways

I have faith in both the devs and this community, though. I trust them to do right by each other in a situation like this.

Excellent news!
I don't think this is a bug. Right now, in live, slicing IS restricted by the cap. Assuming they're still likely using the same piece of code to apply the increases, it would stand to reason that this check would still be in there unless they purposely circumvented it.
Imagine the mess we would have if slicing did NOT take weapons over their caps - you'd have a lot of these rare components wasted, a lot of customization points put into a slice that does nothing, and a lot of pissed off customers. IF they prevented slicing from taking items over their caps, then they had better do the check BEFORE the slice is applied, and prevent it from being done. In my opinion, that's similar to the broken system we have right now - a slice applied that does nothing.
Great news, thanks for putting our minds at ease a bit. ![]()

omfg I choaked on my drink beacuse I was so suprised someone else knows that poem!
I agree. With increased slice percentages, you will either see slicing above caps - or a massive diversity removal process as every weapon is sliced TO it's cap, making them all the same and boring.
