Thread: Are sullustan and ithorians better at shipwrighting?
Yes, I know the subject of the post looks a bit weird, but the thing is that I have been asking to some mates which are crafters and none of them was able to tell me for sure it's worth picking an Ithorian or a Sullustan.
From Kodan's SWG Calculator I see they have bonuses in crafting, but only the Ithorian has bonuses when experimenting chassis assembly. All of those mates have told me the really useful bonuses are those for experimentation, so only Ithorians would be worth it. They say all those +10 crafting bonuses are just for the chance of success and that you can get that from your city specialization.
But that does not make much sense to me. The thing is that I wanted to create a human female, which would be my main char's sisters (I am a roleplayer), but if it was worth it I would create a Sullustan or an Ithorian and think of a different background for him and a different way to roleplay him. Let's say that, since it won't be my main char, I am looking for a compromise between crafting bonuses and roleplaying possibilities.
Could anyone please advice me about the election of the race? Thanks in advance.
both ithorian and sullustan's give assembly bonus's to SW crafting process's... so this wont mean better parts can be made, just less chance of failure.
As Shipwrights require to make most there parts by hand, this can be more useful, especially when dealing with the large resource requirements of say the chassis of a yt-1300.
On my shipwright toon, if i had the choice to change his race, i'd be very tempted to go with an ithorian, as he gives SW bonus's to 4 fields (sheilds/engines/reactors/Droid Interfaces), aswell as givinga nice combat bonus's aswell

Slightly useful? Could you please add more information to that statement?
Since it's going to be a new char, I pressume it is going to take a while to make him Force Sensitive ;-)
I am force sensitive, and I use city, food, and entertainer buffs, I'm seeing about 50-60% amazings and 40-50% greats. Its only an estimate, but I get more then 30% amazings I'm sure of that.
Fuss
The assembly mod it's only accounted for the first combine and helps you get better results. BUT as a Master SW I only get Critical Failures, Great Success and Amazing Success on assembly rolls.
Great Success has the same effect than Amazing Success, and you no longer lose the resources on a Critical Failure like you used to, so it's just another click with your mouse.
Are Sullustan and Ithorian races better at crafting ship and ship parts? I.e., are they worth picking? Why?
Thanks in advance.
Im an Ithorian (well in game anyway)
We as a race get exp bonus - so with weapon creation we have 15 points, (cant remember off me head the others) the Sullustan have the same bonuses but for engines and other systems.
the best way to find out is to create a char on a diferant server and look at the bonuses.

Do you get experimentation bonuses only to weapons and crafting bonuses to the other abilities (except those three the Sullustan has), or do you get both crafting and experimentation bonuses to all your abilities you have per-race bonuses for?
