After you blast off a chunk from the mother asteroid how close do you have to be when blasting chunks to get the resources?
How many times can you blast the mother asteroid before it stops calving chunks?
Is the level of mining hihjackers affected by your pilot level or the general level of space you are in or teh amount of resources in your hold?
Is there a realtionship betwen ship level and the larger mining lasers and cargo holds?
Is tehre a relationship betwen your pilot skills and teh amount of resource you get per/blast?
1. I don't think you have to be close. When you blow it up it automatically goes into your cargo hold, even if it's at 500m. Though I could be wrong on this, I use a tractor beam.
2. It will give up chunks until it is totally destroyed. Do an /examine on the asteroid and you'll see its condition. Once destroyed it will immediately respawn a new asteroid.
3. Level of space. Tier 1's attack in Tatooine. Tier 3 in Yavin.
4. There are Mark I, Mark II, and Mark III mining lasers which fit into every ship, be itstarfighter or Y8 or whatever. There is an Elite mining laser which only fits in the Y8. There are 3 types of cargo holds: Starfighter, POB (multiplayer ship, the Nova, YT1300 and Decimator) and Y8. There are small, medium and large versions of each.
5. No. Though tractor beam is faster

Thanks Reek, for the quick response.
As I was mining last night (first timer) I would blow up the small chunks but get no resources, is this common if my laser is just a Mark I or am i doing something wrong? I do not have a tractor beam and it seems no one on Sunrunner is making them.
