Thread: How to repair a ship that is unlaunchable?

Search tells me search is unavailable all weekend, so here I am.
I was getting my butt kicked in space, & had to eject. I reloaded at the space station, & instead of being able to request repairs, I went into a death & load loop, over & over & over.
I end-task'd the game, waited a few minutes, & logged back in. I now was standing at the starport on Yavin4 where I launched from.
Run up to the starport space terminal & ... uh-oh... my long probe is not listed. Checked datapad, yes it's there, lists Yavin4 labor outpost for the hangar. Go back to the space terminal - nope, not listed.
Time to write a ticket. CSR responds that I need to repair my ship.
I'm not sure how to do this if I can't launch the ship & ask for repairs at the space station.
Can anyone offer advice? Bear in mind I've been playing for all of 7 days, so there's much yet to learn.Be gentle

Well it's not as bad as it seems, all you need to do is buy a spaceship repair kits.
You should have a generic repair kit on you that is part of the starter kit but as the discription says it does not repair conduits so you'll need to buy one or two other ones that are specialized in that or just enough to get you in space so that you can ask the station for repairs and in that case the most important parts you need to repair is the chasis, reactor and engine the station can do the rest.

Thanks for the replies, but please explain exactly how I am to go about repairing the ship... when the ship is not listed at the starport, & so there is no going to the magagement window?

How many ships do you have? if 2 or more try scrolling down. if not try leaving planet and check different starport terminal.

If it is not at the terminal but in your datapad, see if there is an option to launch ship. If so, just relaunch it and then use the repair kit.

Could it be that the respawn-getkilled loop you experienced dropped the chassis to 0?
It would be the first completely disabled ship that I know of, and a possible explanation for why you don't see her in the terminals.
Can you check the chassis stats in your datapad? Mayeb using the View Components option?

Thanks for the help everyone.2nd CSR responded, it's a bug. What exactly was the trigger I'm not sure because there were a few things happening simultaneously. One of my other ships wasn't saving it's gear configuration between logons. Seems to me that something's freaking out server side.
In any case, CSR is going to forcethe redeed I was unable to perform, & dump the parts into my inventory.

Conduit repair kits are only used on POB ships there are repair kits for each system but a master artisan can make the repair all kits.
At one time (not sure if still true now) but using repair kits reduced the amount of decay the components get. IIscandar is it still true?
