Thread: how do i look at the stats for component or i should say what should i look for on picking component

I am new to this pilot thing so dont hate me for asking stupid questions hehe 
? like when i buying parts for a better ship etc. what exactly am i looking at to tell if i am getting a better part or a good part or a really bad crappy part when it comes to components for puting a ship together cuz every time i am looking at the numbers is means nothing to me etc. i mean to me i am looking and what numbers or stats are higher compared to the other my other but still i am so unsure on what to mainly look for so if some could help memake some sense out of it in by speaking moron to me that would be help greatly ok thx kroll
