Thread: idea to keep sw profitable without nerfing the new ships

im going to post this inpilot also.


how about we keep all the new ships the way they are. instead we add a new set of cross profession ships.


Basicly a new series of ships, new intercepter, fighter, bomber and pob ship that all professions could fly.


Have them take a large amount of the new asteroid resources(to keep them from becomeing the only ships in space) but have improved stats like the ep3 and quest reward ships in RotW


edit: forgot to mention, the devs should fix the bugs with the new content first.

so basically what you are asking for is ships even better than the new ones that SW can build? When will it end, lol. We get better ships, width much higher mass and even a boost to engine speed or 4 weapon ports so people will actually buy them instead of using the free quest ones. Then in half a year when theres another expansion and they give even better ships and then we get EVEN better ones after!


Im sorry but i think the devs are trying to shift the focus fromcombat and crafting to combat and crafting. Just adding another layer of better ships isnt solving anything, if they wanted balance they wouldnt have given uber free ships out.


I appreciate that you are only trying to help the problem however and dont consider this a flame, just feeling the pain along with all the other SWs.

actualy im not saying that these ships will be better than the current quest reward ships. Im looking for a system similer to the ground combat weapon system. as you progress there is a reason to change the ship you use. in a perfect world there would be a fighter bomber and intercepter at each level so that as you progress you replace old equipment. basicly like an expanded version of the pre RotW imperial tree. In that system you never saw someone rated to fly an intercepter flying a tie fighter or light duty. they were not practical for the new missions. with this the quest reward ships would simply be ships that you could fly one tier sooner than other ships of equle power.
