Thread: What components are better when crafted?

If you all dont mind helping out a little. I finally made it to master shipwright today and am in the process of setting up what I hope will become a long lasting reliable and quality Ship Shop.
I have four factories set up and am about to get them running.
What I want to know is exactly which components we can craft that are better than their looted counterparts. I did see a list somewhere but for the life of me can't find it again.

On farstar its basically shield generators, armor panels and reactors..
Problem with looted parts is there very low hitpoints and at master level, something looted with 300~ hitpoints wont last long in combat
i tend to make sure core things are crafted reguardless of whether the looted counterpart has better stats, put a loot build ship against acrafted ship, and the crafted ship will take a hell ofa beating compared to the looted.. just my experience as master pilot and master shipwright..

True but in your all craft ship make shur to use loot shields and armor (if they better)
That way you take even more of a beating, since HP on those matter little, exept in decay.

My experience so far is that everything I craft is better than looted, I won't even use looted crap anymore.

So you make LvL2 capacitors with over 900 capacitor energy and over34 recharge?
You make lvl 3 engines over 60PRY and 66 speed at 500 PRY acceleration?
Some how I doubt you do.

ENGINES and CAPs...are the only better looted items on our server...for now..til better spawns occur.

im using a 2000 energy pool 40 top speed one in my firespray now eheh darn things only a lvl 3

There are three categories where Looted is often, if not always,much better than crafted: Engines, Capacitors, and Boosters.
For everything else, crafted with good resources, good experimentation, and a little thought put into the process, player-crafted components are better than looted ones.
Some components also vary by level. In Beta, I found that the Mk. 3 items was the breakpoint. Before Mk. 3, most of the loot I was getting was comparable if not better than the stuff I could craft. At Mk.3 and higher, I was crafting better stuff than I could loot, with the exceptions of engines, capacitors, and boosters.
