So for defensive systems I you get 2 points of sheilds RE and weapons RE. At defensive systems II, you get 2 more points et cetera.

I'm not a shipwright, but we have one in our guild, and she says that she's found that the RE level for a SW is the same as your component qualifications in pilot. In other words, to RE level 2 and 3 components, you must be at least x/1/x/x in one of the pilot professions. I'm not 100% sure about that, but I trust what she told me. I'll leave it up to you SW's as to whether you think that's jacked or not, lol

Wrong.
it depends on your shipwright lvl. As in above he couldnt re engineer the boosters as these are x1xx, you get +2 RE skill per box (on SW).

Have to agree with the no post to this. Tyki has no piloting skills at all, never even been in space, but she is a 3-3-3-3 SW and can RE everything I've gotten enough of yet, I think the higest was some RE level 4 armor.
