One of my Shipwright friends said to me that they had changed the calculations for how level 2 engines are handled with regards to speed, i.e. they nerfed it sometime.
I.e. if I try to RE a level 2 engine I have that has 75 speed it would actually end up a lower number due to some change they've made. I haven't been able to find much information about it, anyone know anything about this?

As far as I know, none of the existing parts were affected by the "speed nerf" soe threw at us.
I've RE'd 3 pre-nerf 92.2 speed engines in the last little while, with no ill effects.
I don't think a prenerf 75 speed c2 would be affected either, but then, I'm speculating.

I'm inclined to pull the BS cord on your friend... I've never heard anything like what he's saying.

Hmm, I asked him some more and he said lvl2 engines with higher than 60 speed would get nerfed down when RE:d. I'll have to find a somewhat less good than my 75 to test with.

They won't get nerfed. The change came in the fact that 75spd L2 doesnt drop any more, not in the RE potential.
