Hi, Im new to the shipwright profesion, but not to crafting, Im a Master artisan and ex Master Chef. I enjoy crafting things but one thing I absolutely hate with a pasiion is resource gathering. I hate surveying. I hate harvestors. I hate going to empty vendor after empty vendor. In fact, I just hate everything about resources. Period. In fact I hope to never have to gather any type of resource ever again since Im only intrested in shipwright for the Reverse Enginering abilites, seeing as how that doesent require any resources at all( which makes me very happy). Consequently, I was wondering ( more like hoping with both fingers crossed) if you get shipwright XP for reverse enginering parts? Then I could even grind shipwright without worrying about resources at all and I would be extremmly happy. In my pants. Thank you.

Your pants are going to be unhappy, then, because REing doesn't give you any shipwright experience. For a while in beta there used to be a separate line of REing, which you got through RE xp, but the only way to get shipwright experience now is through crafting.

As Tomo said, RE used to take RE experience (like slicing), and that turned every shipwright into no better than Jawa. Hanging around starports all hours, begging for parts. Be pleased that its no longer the case, but even if you did still get xps, it would be a pittance compared to what you need for mastery. it would take months and months of RE to get any boxes of SW that way.
