I thinking to take shipwright to help out my guild in making some low level repair kits and doing some RE on the side. My question is if i take novice would i only be able to RE level 1 space loot or can i do higher levels.

Yes, you gain RE levels as you progress thru shipwright, allowing you to RE higher level equipment.

Therefore, as a novice, you'd only be able to RE lvl 1 equipment.

The jerk answer would be "click on the novice box and see if any of the repair kits are there." I'm not trying to be a jerk at the moment thougt, but I don't know off hand. There is of course the Master Artisan "general purpose" repair kit that can be used to fix anything except conduit leaks, that might be a better way to go.

Have it RE'd with 4 other RE level 5 parts.

It will take the certification level of the first part you place in the analyzer.

Ok I have read the FAQ, but I a little confused...lets say I want to RE a LvL 7 weapon...do I need 7 LvL seven weapons to RE just one weapon or do I just need 2 LvL 7 weapons to RE one weapon?

Was it always like this?

I'm pretty sure that at some point right near release, I was able to have a shipwright friend of mine successfully do a RE without having the exact number of similar components...

ie, he made me a RE level5 shield but only used 3 shields (not 5, as would be expected). I think he was surprised that it worked as well, but is this just a weird quirky thing that happens sometimes, or was it a bug that's since been fixed?

Thanks for any info. Getting 10 of the same level 10 components is going to be a pain.

in beta, all of the components had to be the same exact name, needless to say, that sucked

It has been this way since launch, however there are rare occasions when the RE level of a component may not match the equipment level so you could see a lvl 3 RE but a lvl 5 equipment.
