So I have my veteran reward thingy, 30k of any resource I could want ever.... As a loving shipwright Id naturally like something that would last me a little while but allow me to make some uber parts...
so I thought I'd just go ask the other wrighties and see what they'd all choose, and if they want, why

You might be better off asking on the Flurry forum, since resources are unique to each server.
Don't forget SWGCraft is a great tool as well.

Well, since I'm a Master DE and Shipwright. I can't decide between 950+ OQ Tolium Reactive Gas (for droid detonation modules), and some 1000 CD 940 OQ copper for really SW components.

Yeah, i havent build much other that chassis so far , and uber there doesnt make much difference. What have you found to be an important resource for weapons or engines etc. Whats the resource that would have the biggest impact for a shipwright during experimentation?

i am a doc and shipwrite but only 12m on one acount.
I thought about getting SW resours, but i feel the sheer numbers we use, does not warrent wasteing it on SW.
we use at the smallest amounts, 250 units per item, compared to 28 for avain meat per buff pack.
U want to make some experemental weapons? there goes 2500 units per pop, and also we have so many resoures going into each thing, so one great resourse wont change anything drasticly soi feel its wasted. So i got the avian meat on ahazi. (gloscho)
just my $0.02

Yeah , i would do the same if i was you. If you had a profession where you only need small amount of a great resource, then 30k is good for you. Not good for a shipwright. They should atleast make it a 100k stack. 30k is pretty stingy if you ask me.

Funny thing is, 30K is a huge amount for a doc or (evidently) an armorsmith. For us, though, 30K's gone in a blink. It'd be much more profitable to sell the resource kit (offers up to 2.5M on Starsider now) than to put it into shipwright resources, no matter how uber. If I tried to sell ship stuff made with the reward resources at the 83 cpu it's worth in terms of opportunity cost, I'd be hooted out of my own shop.
There's some discussion of this on the Economy forum right now. Many are predicting gloom and doom for docs, which makes me wonder if this is just exposing an underlying flaw in their crafting system: their product takes far too few resources to create in comparison with the vast value of what it provides. Buffs will doubtlessly see huge changes with the CURB, so that might be moot, but it leads me think the devs should give some good hard thought to increasing resource demands on the other crafting professions. It seems to have worked pretty well with us shipwrights.
Edit: seen some selling for 3M. An even 100 cpu, or five times the cpu rate I charge on level 1 components.

I don't see the point to using it on SW resources. It is used to get 30K of CURRENT resources, I can drop one harvester and get 30K fairly quickly. If I was to use it, it would be on avian meat or wooly hide (for my doc or armorsmith friends, respectively).

Some of the suggestions I've seen already:
Avian meat (doctor buffs...arguably the best choice pre-CU)
Wooly Hide (AS...another pre-CU choice)
Tolium Gas (DE detonation modules)
Rori Fungus (doctor, fireblankets w/55 med use)
Herbivore meat (doctor subcomponets...a waste I feel)
Fish Meat (BE pet stims I think)
Eggs (Chef...not sure what for. Never been more than novice chef)
I would tend to think any resouce for shipwright would be a bad choice considering the quantity of resources we go through, and the less that spectacular results of using top-shelf materials in SW items versus your average materials.
For shipwrights, Irecommend NOT using your 30k deed, and also NOT selling it either. Keep this in your bank (not your house where you might get tempted to use it) and just wait. Shipwright may not be your final crafting profession in SWG. If you go WS, AS or doctor, this could be extremely useful for getting you started.

The Docs all wasted thier kits on Avian whe it is so much easier to find than Herb meat. I have a feeling we are going to see the price skyrocket on herb meat across the servers. It's just got a littler rarer and those docs need it to make the subcomponents that make the buff packs.

well hands down its going to be avian meat
I second that.. Avian meat is probably the best choice. I cant see 30k of any resouce lasting with shipwright.

No, you can get 30k of any resource that has ever spawned on your server, all the way back to launch.
