ok again i give some shipwright parts to RE, various parts but all the same RE lvl and the right number, then he tells me no dice, it cannot be done. i say why? he then tells me they all have to be the SAME for it to work. so i argue with him for a few minutes but he tells me hes the shipwright and that he knows. so i ask him to just try and i sit and wait for him to try...and i still wait...
can someone tell me, a non-shipwright how RE works? see it was my understanding that, for example, if you had six boosters you wanted to have REed that all you needed were for them to all have an RE lvl of six. hes not thefirst shipwright to tell me they all have to be the same for RE towork soam i missing something here? did something change?

Nothing has changed. He's a fool who doesn't know his own profession.

5 armors of RE lvl 5,4 caps of RE lvl 4, 5 caps of RE lvl 5 and six boosters of lvl 6 RE. i checked them over and over before handing them to him. i had them for awhile in search of a shipwright.

The Shipwright also has to have enough skill to RE the parts of that level. Each of the 4 trees in Shipwright cover a different type of part. The Chassis line handles armor, another handles weapons, one for systems (Droid Interface, FC, etc), and the fourth handles propulsion (engine/booster). So, he may just not have had enough boxes in a given branch to actually do the RE.
Unless he was a Master Shipwright, then, he was doing something wrong somewhere along the line.

OMG! What the heck is going on here! Please don't flame me. I too thought they all had to be THE EXACT SAME PART. MODEL#, ETC I will have to try and Re 2 parts of the same level , and see what happens. I'll get back to this post.

Watch out though, sometimes a level 6 part might have an RE level of 5.

The only time it has been Exact Same Named Parts was in early beta.
They changed it toward the end to be just same number of oneRE LvL components to make it more viable and fun.
It was in the patch notes, and has been on the forums for over 3 months now. If you did not know the change you are not keeping up with the state of your proffesion very well.
