I'm pretty new to all this RE Business so stay with me

If I was to get a green blaster, and RE it with some other (non green) blasters would it come out with green shots?

And is there any special way to make sure that it does?

The REd component will have the appeareance, level and default name of the first item in the CAT. Just be sure to have the weapon with the color you want the REd ewpon to have int he first place. To do this, your best bet is open the CAT with the radial menu like a bag.
