hi guys a quick question for you all. I was just wondering what your selling RE'ed loot for (i've been stockpiling my and now read to sell). are you selling them at 1k per level or 1k per level per item used? for example you have a level 5 engine, do you sell if for 5K or 25k as it told 5 engines to make it? only asking as i want to sell them at the standard rate of other shipwrights, and not undercut

For a while I sold my stuff at 2000x(level^squared), so in the case of a level 6 capacitor, 2000 x6 x6 = 72,000, but recently I've stopped pricing formulaically.

For one thing, all RE'd loot is not RE'd equally. Some components are just better than another and it just doesn't make sense to sell a 32 recharge, 750 energy level 2 cap for the same price as a 39.5 recharge, 980 energy level 2. For another, a good deal of the stuff I'm selling is pretty high-end stuff, gear I've carefully collected and put together to create an excessively good part. I see these as being the high-end luxury items of space--the 90% effect composite, the krayt-enhanced or Sith-looted pistol--and as such, I think it's fair to charge a premium rate.

I don't really have a formula anymore, I'm just kind of testing the waters. I might price an okay RE'd item at roughly 2000xlevel^squared, but that's just a ballpark figure that gets adjusted according to briskness of sales and how they compare to my crafted product; my modest level 2 caps I put at 20-30K, for instance, and can't keep them on the vendor. I've been listing the rare 38+ recharge 950+ energy ones I put together at 120K and sell them quickly. An okay level 6 cap might get listed at 60-80K, but I recently put a very nice one up at 350K just to see what would happen and it sold within three days. Heck, one of the best loot vendors on our server sells un-RE'd parts according to their popularity and has level 10 engines at 30K and level 8 guns at 100 or 150K and can't keep them in stock; if people will pay that for filler loot, a finished high-quality product has to be worth a significant amount.

Great loot doesn't drop every duty mission and you sure can't craft it. I think serious pilots know this and will be willing to pay a premium for a part that may last them a very long time while performing exceptionally. You may be able to find a solid formula for fair to pretty good loot, but when it comes to the top-notch stuff, I think you sort of just have to go by your gut when you put it on the vendor. If it turns out your gut is a little greedy, you can always relist it for less when the sale expires.

I price my stuff based on the quality of the item, if its a really good item that 100-750K level idependent, if it's just junk I through together to get a KSE Firsespray Part I sell at: lvl * (lvl+1) * 1000.

I price like the second poster in this thread. With the exception of what I consider an "uber" item which I then price custom. Basicly I junk all the odd lvl components with the chassis dealer, with the exception of weapons. I charge 2X((Item Lvl)^2) for Even lvl shields and Boosters. I charge 4X((Item Lvl)^2 ) for Capacitors, Engines, and quality low lvl reactors (usually only lvl 1 or 2). 5X((Item Lvl)^2) for Weapons.

What do I consider Uber?

All RE'd lvl 10 stuff

All Re'd Weapons lvl 7-10

RE'd Lvl 8 Reward Shield

RE'd Lvl 4 and 8 Reward Boosters

RE'd Lvl 2 Capacitor with > 40 recharge rate

RE'd Lvl 4+ Capacitor with > 50 recharge rate

RE'd Lvl 2 Engines > 60 Speed (Max I have seen is 65's)

RE'd Lvl 4 Engines > 70 Speed (Max I have seen is an 82)

RE'd Lvl 6 Engines > 80 Speed (Max I have seen is High 80's other then prenerf "inferno" 95's)

RE'd lvl 8 Engines > 90 Speed (Max I have seen is High 90's)

Reactors with >20k energy generation.

Also when it comes to DI's everything is trash except those ~15 second timer lvl 1 (~500 mass) DI's, or Lvl 10 RE'd DI's for the big multiplayer ships.
