Thread: Reverse Engineering and Disk Fragments

I just started to reverse engineer all my loot collected from mastering the pilot profession. Is it me, or is there a pattern here? The more Kuat items used in reverse engineering the more disk fragments you will receive. Ironic that the disk fragments are labeled Kuat fragments.

Just got my first disk yesterday (6/8) from REing a Level 1 Kuat shield.

it seems like some people overlook the importance of REing level ones because they think its impossible to get a disk from it. i got my first disk (1/8) from a level, but i cant remember if it was kuat.

I believe there is some truth to this....the claims were discounted around the release of JTL, but through experience I've found that the Kuat components seem to drop more often than others. The question I have is whether level 10 RE attempts would drop a disk more often than other levels.

It seems to be pretty much random for me. I can go through a crate of analysis tools and not get a single disk, and other times I'll get 1 or 2. Haven't really noticed Kuat parts giving disks over other types, but then I haven't been paying that close of attention.

i have gotten 4 disk from L1 parts so I RE every thing I can get my grubby mitts on.

Ive gotten 4 fragments so far, out of just under 500 RE jobs. All of the disks came from Lvl 1 loot and NONE of them were Kuat. ...just to throw my 2 cents in on this

It's feast or famine for me on the disks - I had gotten nothing for almost a week and blammo - caught three today. Only one of which were from RE'ign a Kuat part. I thinkthat may just be coincidence...I've never noticed any difference in frequency there.
And I think the overall chance of getting a disk is based on the number of RE attempts, not the number of parts involved - if that's the case level 1 parts should yeild far more disks than any other.

I would guess that8 or9 of the 15-16 Disks i've RE'd were from lvl 1's. About the Kuat item=Kuat disk i find that it doesn't matter. I've gotten disks from everything. from the (Unknown) to Sinar and everything in between. the key is to just stock pile your loot and do some REing runs.

I've only RE'd a handful of drops over level 4, and all three of my current disks came from 1 and 2's. Didn't look at the Kuat RE attempts any more than the others to see a pattern there, though.

I've RE a couple hundred parts now and both my disks came from lvl 1parts.

That's funny. I've never got a disk from a Level 1 part. Not that I haven't RE'd level 1s, or I believed it wasn't possible. I just never have.
I remember reading somewhere that the drop rate was something like 1/100?

Thought it was 1/1000. I have been getting them at 1/100 though.
