Thread: Need Recommendations on a PVP only Freelance Ship

I have just gotten a number of requests for PVP only Freelance ships. These requests came from a group of master pilots that will be going up against a group of Rebels. It is a RP/RolePlaying thing. I was thinking of basing them on either the Ixiyen or the Dunelizard because of mass/manuver but would love to hear any suggestions from people who PVP regularlly. What you use and how you equip it. Things like to you load the Max shield you can find? Are missles any use or do they take too long to lock? Do you use armor? Is high PYR more important than top speed on engines? Is the smaller profile more effective than something like a Rihxyrk with 190k if mass? Suggestions are appreciated.

a khiranx decked out with the RE reward engine and a RE level 6 gun is nice for PvP

Yes, it would be but the problem is I do not have the RE fillers for the crew and they have them in other craft that they do not wish to give up. The NPC that buys space loot has killed RE on this server. I am going to have to craft this. I already told them to save all loot but I doubt I will get enough to be useful.
Thanks for the info. I will assume they are going against this. Though, the other group may have the same problems. Loot for masters has been crap lately anyway. I have to equip 10 people. We are doing an inventory now.

I'd recommend the Dunelizard. The ship's profile is very important in PVP, but the Kihraxz is anomalously huge, so the extra 45K mass is probably worth the slight tradeoff in speed and size the Dune will give up.
PYR is extremely important in PVP, but speed's useful too. The level 6 or 8 reward engines are great for PVP and should fit nicely in a Dunelizard.
Mk II Image-Rec launchers are nice. Don't take too long to lock and can see through chaff all right.
Big shields are nice.. 1900-HP level 7s, or RE'd reward shields at 28-30K mass are good. Level 6 or 7 guns are probably enough; damage comes pretty fast in PVP, so there's no real need for bigger.
Use a level 1 reactor with Reactor Overload 4, and a level 1 droid interface, and a level 1 booster. RE'd level 2 cap is good. This'll free up plenty of space for other stuff while not significantly affecting any of your systems.
That's a quick rundown.. you could go with a Kihraxz, too, with a level 5-6 gun, level 6 engine, and mass-experimented level 7 shield, then fill it out with all the level 1 stuff you can fit in. But I think they're a little big to justify using.

Make sure you go with the Style 1 Dunelizard, the Style 2 Cigar-shaped Dune is significantly larger.

ya dune liazard style 1 is the say to go. i tired the others in PvP and none worked as well.
